Diesel electric, ammeter problem

Post by sanyix »

The loco's ammeter control value has 6600 amp max value
in real it can reach 6000 amps for short time, so that is the setting in simulation blueprint too.
But in game, the max amp is reached at 60% thottle is 1600, and over it the ammeter doesn't change (just because of the speed changing).
So the ammeter shows same value at 60% and 100% throttle.
Why? in the csv files the tractive effort not the same at these throttle settings.

And how can i make for example a trainbrake with 9 notches? Because if i don't use the built in identifiers at notches in TrainBrakeControl control value, then at the non built in identifiers, the brake doing odd things (sometimes it adds more brake sometimes less, no matter if the brake value is lower or higher).

You may want to look at my "37 performance" thread in the Physics section for an explanation of what's going on.

I know that the field divert is wrong, that's "incativated" in my blueprint, so the ammeter should be linear with tractive effort...

But i still can't make that 9 notched brake lever.

Well, let's just say that the physics model has "problems". Notched brake levers are possible (the 380 uses it), but I don't know how.
