I agree, even with the great leaps forward content developers continue to make with locomotive models the HST is still one of my favourites to drive

has anyone else noticed that on the Intercity Swallow livery HST the bogies on the power cars turn the opposite way on bends to what they should? I've had the sim since rail simulator 2 years ago and have only just noticed that lol

If that is the case then it is a transform issue in max.
We came across them in the older models.
I will check and add it to our bug database.

cheers for pointing it out.

Edit, confirmed and bugged.

Maybe add that the mentioned IC Swallow HST is missing a TGS model, too?

:) That is not a bug,

I'm sure it will get added in time.

I agree Derek, it's a great model and still looks the part. Textures look grand already.

Any chance we could have the rear power car sound workaround on this one? (will send home made cake to RW towers in return!)

Cheers

....no worries. i know its the case on the Intercity Swallow and also the Great Western Merlin livery (thats how i discovered it actually) but i don't know about any other reskins of the HST out there, i do know the default Barbie is fine though.

As this release is focused on the HST, what would be really nice is to encorporate the Notched brakes that this model lacked in the first release and hasn't been rectified yet, and also as already mentioned the rear powercar sound script that comes with the armstrong valenta sound pack and Mk3 coach pack. This would make the release worth spending out the money for and a fantastic product in my opinion.

I live in hope :)

The other thing Id like fixed is the speedo in the FGW version. If we could have a digital readout (which would be easier to see than the needle) I could turn of the HUD and just use the driver aide. The clock fixed in the BR one would be nice, but I think thats being overly pedantic. :)

OTOH, it has to be said that its still an excellent model, and I love it to bits. Has anyone noticed they even had a sticker on the glass inside the cab to show when the certification runs out? Kuju did some amazing work on this one.

Yeh they certainly did, one of my favourite trains from the age of 3 til now - 26 yrs old. and coz its such a superb model its still my favourite in Railworks. These little niggles are just nitpicking but would be worth it. if it was a shoddy, . and outdated model noone would bother but this definately has the potential to remain the best.

The digital readout is not a speedo, its related to signals and ATP as far as I'm aware.

Really? Thats interesting, I would then assume the row of what appear to be colour lights around the edge are related to speed conditions from signalling equipment? Be nice to get all that working.

Agreed Ghawk, Im still an original great western fan, but it has to be said that thrashing along the GWML at 125mph is still a heck of a lot of fun.

i have just noticed the pictures on facebook and have a HUGE request.

could you make the green/gold paint curve around the back of the power car like the default barbie version does. at the moment, like the Intercity swallow it just stops dead at the back, i managed to alter the texture a little to give http://i925.photobucket.com/albums/ad91 ... -02-15.png

I have heard that textures are different to the default so fear that I won't be able to reskin this myself. I think it looks awful without it sweeping around the side. I beg that this be done. Looks soo much nicer. pleeeeeeeease? lol

On the topic of old models my only real gripe is the insanely short LOD's on some those older models. Example being while the HST is great it still takes away from the atmosphere a little to see window textures popping on the mk3's from 50ft away as they pass. The old models indeed still hold their own well but specs for computers have come a long way since their release and an eventual LOD adjustment on those models would be nice.
