a little problem

Post by navarra »

Dear Sirs,
I don't know if it's the good place for this topic, but I need some help from you....if you accept or you can do that :( .....
With the excellent product from "Oovee" Railworks Class57 (buyed from Steam) ,I can't finish the activity --Advenza-FGW MK3 Refurb to Derby--...because the activity finishes with a collision with traffic AI.... not my train, and I am situated between go via Southall 4 and go via Willesden Junction Approach....
I try to do these activity three times, with speed limit, medium speed, and with respect of the timetable...and ,always the activity crashes for the same reason...
Have you had the same problem,do you know something for a little patch ??? perhaps.
Many thanks for all you accept to do for me.

Best Regards.

Subject: a little problem
Ticket Thread >>
Sun, Sep 12 2010 12:14pm - Oovee Customer Service

Hi,

There have been reports of this problem. But unfortunately I, myself have not been able to replicate the problem within this scenario. All trains have been designated with headcode's and unfortunately nobody has provided us with any details as to which train it actually is.

I will try and get someone on my team to try and replicate the problem so it can be sorted. It will be released with any updates/changes that are made to improve any problems with the pack.

Kind Regards,
Oovee Customer Service.

I'm about to give the scenario in question a run and see what happens, I will report back with what I find. For what it's worth, the only changes I have which will have any effect at all are cosmetic only - the European container pack, black FSA wagon and DRS Class 57.

What operating systems are you running? If you have XP then you do not need Alchemy to enable EAX sounds in game, and obviously if you have either Vista or 7 you need alchemy if you are using one of their cards.
There are problems with using Alchemy as it cause spurious errors to occur such as the above or Scenarios failing to load.

I too can confirm this problem in the same spot, it does give a lat long co-ord but goes off screen before one can make a note.

I ran the scenario and found the service in question is 2N05, a Class 166 unit bound for the Basingstoke portal south of Reading. The collision is at (51.472, -0.872) which is the crossover junctions south-west of Twyford. Changing this service to stop at Reading 6 (so it would not switch to the slow line) and have that as it's final destination has fixed the problem, which I suspect is related to poor deconflicting of services at those crossovers just after Twyford.

Well done for that, have you let Oovee know?

Yes, I submitted a support ticket on their site around the same time as I posted here about my solution. If they reply via email I can attached my fixed version for them to check. I've had my suspicions with those crossovers before which helped narrow it down, my first attempt to fix it was to do something that would keep the 2N05 stopping service staying on the slow tracks.

For anybody else who comes across broken scenarios and attempts fixing them, make sure you clone it first so you cannot do harm and any successful work is not overwritten if you have to verify your files with Steam.
