Help Needed

Post by crowman »

Hi Folks,

After a couple of days away from building my route I decided to add a little more today whilst away from work for the day. Bad news is I now can't get Rail Works to launch, I get the following error:

Image

I have tried verifying the game files, de-fragged the game files and even re-installed to a fresh install, still get the same. Can anyone think what the issue is please?

The error seems to be the GameManager.dll

Thanks in Advance

Hi again,

just found something else that's a problem. When checking the settings/screen resolution and selecting a screen size full or windowed and then test display settings they ALL come up with : " Settings are not usable" Guess this is why I'm getting the proc error?

Have you looked at your graphics cards drivers? Could be they are in need of an update maybe?

Hope you get it sorted

Hi,

to be honest I have not looked at then yet. To add a bit more to the story I had to do a system restore took it back 2 days and It's played up from there. All was working fine 2 days ago.

I have re-installed Direct x 9 and re-installed the physix stuff.

Will get an updated nvidia driver and try that as well.

I would do a check and confirm it is nothing to do with your route or any of your custom assets by just moving them (temporarily) out of the RailWorks folder. I use this technique with the Trans Pennine route quite a lot.

If you get the same error then you know it is nothing to do with your stuff. Some consellation as it you then now you are least do not have a corrupt route.

Hope you get it fixed.

Hi guys thanks for the input.

Well I'm a little further forward :D

Updated my grafix driver and now managed to get the settings to save. The error I get now is "unable to initialise Physx" the game loads however when checking the port road update I get the something bad happened.

To answer your post Jim it's a fresh download of RW with no 3rd party stuff added. And Merlin - i was unable to use any setting.

things are getting better ( fingers crossed).

Uninstall graphics drivers and PhysX. Then reinstall the latest version.

Good new folks, panic over. un-installed Physix and re-installed all works as should now.

Right must get this route done :D

I love happy endings

Paul
