Yes "smoke deflectors" is correct., but colloquially they were always called "blinkers" or just "blinks"crumplezone wrote:Model wise the 9F and Brit are at the same standard, the Brit has 3 different, what I would call shielding(are they smoke deflectors?) on it and the nameplates colour different according to which varient you picked from the scenario editor.

Re: IHH Britannia!
My first impression: The Britannia is another outstanding loco model by Sly. Slipping wheels for the first time - thats great! The vacuum break pressure gauge works correct and so on. But could it be that there is to much space between the loco and the tender? And I think the sound changes at about 24 mph a little bit to fast. There is no smooth transition. But thats my opinion.
The Port Road calls - I must drive the Britannia!

Re: IHH Britannia!
Very pleased overall.
Just one (minor) point. I noticed that some of the nameplates have double spacing between the words which does not look right in some cases.
Also in trying to correct my version I worked out that the backgrounds to the nameplates may have a slight error. In looking at the file names I noticed that Bground_Black_a.TgPcDx was for a five letter nameplate, Bground_Black_b.TgPcDx was for six, all the way to Bground_Black_l.TgPcDx which was sixteen letters. However Bground_Black_d.TgPcDx and Bground_Black_e.TgPcDx were both eight letters and there was no nine letter background. Works out the same for the reds as well, no nine and two eights. Which makes the 9 letter plates look unbalanced with an extra space on the end.
Finally Hereward The Wake's name is more than sixteen letter so you are missing the final letter off the nameplate.

Re: IHH Britannia!
Impression overall are very good. The oliver cromwell scenario in Darlington scenario wont work because it references some class 20 hev assets, but I swapped them out with the bonus pack railtrack ones and it worked ok. Sound by and large is good, whistle sounds excellent, sounds are great but I think they mainly suit it when its operating it above 60 mph. Just personal taste here IMHO, they certainly arent bad by any degree.
I find the performance of the machine quite distinctive, its almost lumbering when you have it operating below 50, but when you get to 60 and beyond on say about 20 percent cuttof, its a flipping rocketship. I got 70 easy on the portroad, and would easily have got 80 had it not been for a signal check. Dont know how accurate it is, but the only 2 cylinder express locomotive I can compare it to is a Saint, slow to pickup but when operating at speed as good as a 3 or 4 cylinder.
Again, money well spent. Only thing Im disappointed by is the apparent lack of AWS in the LMR variant, I suspect its the same in the WR variant which is a shame if the case. Not to worry, Its still fun to thrash the living guts out of it.

Hi
I bought the new Brit Pack yesterday via download.Excellent again from sly having bought the 9F pack also, apart from the Darlington Scenario that
sadly didn't work,i think sly needs to look at this when he is back. Can't wait to run 70013 over Beattock at the weekend when the new West Coast route
is available. The real 70013 took 11 carriages over back in April for The Great Britain 3 with no problems. Also some instructions would have been
helpful regarding the nameplates,a simple PDF file would suffice.
Thanks

Good work, but I have a question. Is the reason you've said 70004/30/48 are not present in the game just because the names are too long for the 17 character field available?JackGrave wrote:I have created little table of numbers and other things about IHH Britannia.

I must say that I am impressed with this pack, bought last night. Previously (when the last 2 IHH diesel packs were released) I have been a bit critical of IHH but this pack is right on the money. I'm still not planning to buy the Western or the BR Western Region packs for a couple of reasons, but I do feel I need to withdraw by blanket criticism of IHH.

Re: IHH Britannia!
As I understand it IHH release directly as by the time everyones had their cut via Steam it isn't commercially viable. Updates are all on the site and it's just a case of dowloading the rwp file and installing, hardly a chore.

Re: IHH Britannia!
A question for people who have bought this, I'm running a few tests on my computer at the moment to see weather or not I'm suffering from the usual Railworks sound cutting off, what I need to know from buyers is, are you suffering chopping off of sound on the chuffing sound in the 25-30mph range after stopping at a station and also passing at other trains on the line.
While I don't think its the pack, I'm noticing it abit more than usual so I just want to see if anyone else is experiencing it or not, trying to eliminate if Railworks is just overloading my soundcard by sending to much requests or its Railworks being akward or weather its my system acting up and I need to do some maintaince on it.
I don't seem to have the issue when loading first up but after stopping at a station after say, 10-11miles on a track its abit noticable. So if anyone can confirm or deny it would be much appreciated, then I can eliminate a possible cause.
thanks.

HI transadelaide
I don't work for IHH but I assume your comment is correct. The loco's missed are because the names exceed 16 letters. In fact if you look at "Hereward The Wake" the last letter is missing because its 17 letters long. I've removed that loco from my 7MT_Britannia_numbers.dcsv file as a result so it wont appear.
