Do they stay dead if you put wagon between them so it's not double headed?

Re: Port Road Freebie
I know our county is large, but this route has nowt to do with Yorkshire - it is set in South West Scotland. I agree it is lovely, and I look forward to the extensions and improvements.artisan wrote:hi Chris, you're damn right about this lovely route,i don't know the actual area modelled but it really does have a Yorkshie feel to it too,i'm well impressed.

I'm very surprised that so many people appear to have missed it when it was uploaded to the library here on UKTrainsim.

My railway photos are now on Google + - links to the albums are in this thread http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 9&t=149558
Lots of steam and early diesels from 1959 to 1963.

Re: Port Road Freebie
Thanks to everyone for the kind comments.
I'm happy it's giving you all something new to play with!
I've already done most of the planning for the extension - more on that post-WCML!
All the best,
Keith

Re: Port Road Freebie
Having downloaded the new Port Road from Steam and copied the scenarios over from the original Port Roads, 1,2 and 3, can I now safely remove these from the routes folder in Railworks so it leaves only one 'The Port Road'?keithmross wrote:Thanks to everyone for the kind comments.

Re: Port Road Freebie
Hi Chris,
I would recommend focusing on the Steam version now, as it will be getting all my attention when the time comes
If everything is working (reasonably) well on this version then you may as well give your RW an early spring clean!

Keith

Re: Port Road Freebie
I saw it, but being newish to Railworks I have been very wary of downloading routes because of either faults in them or having to search for assets, some of which are difficult to find.alanch wrote:artisan wrote:I'm very surprised that so many people appear to have missed it when it was uploaded to the library here on UKTrainsim.
I tried a couple and gave up - too much hassle and I had no idea just what was wrong apart from the fact that my computer was freezing, or RW would just crash.
When the IOW Network was released I was determined to get that working so I had to find out how to use RW Tools to begin with, and just what it was capable of doing. After a couple of false starts, and the help of a new version of the IOW Network I got it running on my computer.
I would not have bothered to take that steepish learning curve to get Port Road to work if it needed it (wrong end of the mainland), but I was very happy to download the route from Steam because I knew it would run straight out of the box.
I tried South Devon Banks and deleted it until I could use RW Tools with a degree of competency - I now have that up and running and the only problem with it is that it doesn't cover the entire SW rail system (yet), but too many of the routes on UKTrainsim need a fair bit of sorting out and are beyond the abilities of a beginner or somebody that doesn't want to learn RW Tools, and there is no way of knowing if a downloaded route will run with no problems.

Re: Port Road Freebie
It was the same when in the library Colin. It was part of the first route building challenge when one of the main rules was to use default only, hence a working "out of the box" route.

Re: Port Road Freebie
I didn't know that, and I'm sure many others who have now discovered this excellent route didn't know either. Unfortunately I only came to Railworks early this year and missed the news and the results of the challenge.Darpor wrote:It was the same when in the library Colin. What other little gems have I missed - I will find out when I've downloaded the complete library

Has the motive power depot building at Dumfries been demolished in the new version or am I missing something?

Hi Richard, it was said earlier that the station signs and certain sheds would be put back into the route in due course so it might be that. I think the objects were maybe created by someone else and permission was needed first?

You should not have too many problems running the routes and scenarios available from UKTS or elsewhere. The only holdups are mostly missing rolling stock; faults in the routes and scenarios are rather the exception than the rule and the developers are usually very helpful resolving problems, or issue updates. You know how to work with RWTools, so it is easy to find out about the missing stock. I know that many scenarios are made with a certain amount of payware stock included but a lot can be run with default stock as well. Port Road is a wonderful route and ran for me 'out of the (UKTS) box' so to speak.
Then again if you run into problems with RW, this is the place to ask for advice and help
Good luck and happy driving

Or possibly that they'll be replaced by new, custom-made objects?Darpor wrote:Hi Richard, it was said earlier that the station signs and certain sheds would be put back into the route in due course so it might be that.
