Interesting driving technique employed there :P.

One notable feature added, it hides everything when taking a screenshot. No more frantically pressing keys to make sure all your bells and whistles are disabled before hitting CTRL-S (or the icon on the HUD)

At least the instruction messages are now transparent, but I would rather them pop up less obtrusively at the top of the screen rather than popping up in your face in the middle of the screen.
Also, I could not see a speed dial. A speed dial makes it easier to read acceleration/deceleration rates easier than a digital number display.

Hmm... Initial reaction? Don't like it. Don't need it.

Hope we can continue to use "legacy" controls and aren't forced to use that "game" interface...

I can understand why they'd want to do it, i.e. to make it more accessible for those who may otherwise simply buy "Trainz"

Pretty sure it was stated that this was going to be an option. It would have to. Could you imagine the developer backlash if that was permanent and all those man hours building cab views and controls were rendered 100% useless.

That's the otherwise undocumented Duff "launch control" :)

It would be nice if they could do this for what we have now, as an option. Sometimes you want a screenshot of the displayed information, such as the "get Tornado to 100mph" shots we had earlier this year.

Looks ok, admittedly not something i'll use, as i prefer to look at each beautifully modelled cab, and I do alter the cam position so as to be able to see the controls. But it might be useful to others, well done, RSC. Just hope we can keep the regular f5 and F3 views

Pretty much how I feel. Don't like it, but that's only cause I don't have plans to use it or need for such a thing. Functionally though it appears to be really well done and can see how it will definitely be of use to a decent number of RW's users.

Let's face it, not everyone drives strictly from the cab, and everyone can't afford raildriver, add in to the fact keyboard controls are becoming a more barbaric form of controlling near any game, this is a perfect middle ground that costs nothing, isn't restrictive to the cab and gets you off the keyboard.

With you on this one Mark, F3 & F5 are all that I require.

Call me old but I'm still a keyboard man on screen controls are not my cup of tea but atleast it's an option so I don't have to use it.
