Who's talking about change, I'm not. I was talking about adding. :)

I do actually think it will be useful, but like I said those levers a bit small for my liking.
Of course there are always some who would argue that the programmer time spent on this might have been used for fixing stuff, but that would be cynical. ;)

hi, ...

Sorry, but it annoys me, when I think I should get this software Raildriver blend as a replacement for the old control.
I control with the levers and displays of the locomotive and not personal for me with this child control.
Slowly I see less and less space for realism in Railworks.
We have no working railway gates, nor a well-functioning AI, no locomotive light, no light in the passenger car out of the box and much more is missing.
Since we lack such a course, send Raildriver software version. and steer with the mouse, which I particularly love.
Hope not the "Astra*** Progs have this Initial Idea or Investigation. (JoinVenture) :black:

Ice if you use the controls and dials of the loco then you lose nothing, that functionality will still be there.
You use the sim one way another person uses it another way X many thousands.

Either way you will find out if you like it when it is released.

Hi

I thought it actually thought it looked quite good in the video clip. 8)

More to the point, I've been wondering for ages why anyone would use the :black: smiley, and now it's here more than once on the same page. I feel as if my life is complete! :D :D

Cheers

hi, ...

Derek, I know they have good taste. Clearly, I need only see their models and works of art.
It would be very surprised if they would like the template as a simulation of the more serious nature.
For a Quick Game, it was enough for the value of a serious simulation, unfortunately not.

Sure there are some railroad friends who find it good but when I look at the tenor of most of the post here and in the German forum, it most are rather poor.
The trouble is the fact that one must accept that and the old window control is removed.

Last but not least, ...
Then I would be right Mausmenu where I could access all functions better.

I think the video might have been better received - by me at least - if the dev demonstrating it had used some semblance of valid driving technique. If he drives his car like that, I would expect him to be replacing his brake pads and clutch rather frequently, and complaining loudly about his fuel costs.

Ultimately I think this is a solution for two purposes:

- Content makers who haven't got around to making a cab yet.

- Casual users who can't be bothered reading the keyboard controls, think a RailDriver is too expensive (a valid point of view), and can't find the real controls in the cab to click on.

With that in mind, I'm only surprised that it wasn't in the initial release, and has taken so lonng to develop.
The key to knowledge is not to rely on others to teach you it.

Id be interested to see what this is going to look like when applied to steam locomotives. Some aspects, such as manual firing, I would welcome having more visual controls introduced. Ditto water feed and the glass water tubes. Sometimes its very hard to see from the 3d cab what their status actually is.

I dont hate it. I personally wont use it because im used to not using it. But I can understand how it would make the game more accessible to new people.

Hopefully they don't get bored after a few weeks, and also there will be "Drive engines like a Pro", manuals available to get them interested again.
Of course this is only necessary if people only want to drive engines and not develope them or other content.
Railworks simulator or game?

People were sceptical of Career Mode too, in the beginning, but it seems most people have adopted it with a positive view after it was released (I know I have). Now, considering that this new HUD is apparently going to be optional, I don't really see the problem with it. Heck, I definately see an advantage for weirdoes like myself, who like to run from the outside views (especially during switching).
