Turntables 9F and West Country

Post by Daffer »

Hi all

Has anyone had problems turning a West Country or 9F. The Tornado and Black fives and everything else is OK. I have spent ages edging backwards and forewards trying to get central, but I have not managed to turn either of these classes.

I believe that both of these locos (and the JustTrains A4) are slightly too long for the default UK turntables, but will work on the US versions

My understanding is that it's the length of the invisible "collision box" that is the issue, rather than the visible wheelbase length of the locomotives

Foggy!

Good man! I tried to open the US turntable on the S & D but it did not include the turntable. I tried the Siegan turntable which was available and that worked fine and room to spare. So I have a new German turntable at Bath I now have to consult the engineers about installing one at Didcot and Old Oak Common.
