Nice, is there any chance you could explain how you managed that modification please?

Yes, indeed, its quite easy :)

Use RW_Tools to open up the Diesel Crane cab Bin file, located in IHH\RailVehicles\Crane\Cab

Once opened, scroll down until you reach the lines

<cCabCameraUpdateBlueprint>
<camType d:type="sUInt32">4</camType>
<cameraOffset>
<cRVector3>
<X d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="0000000000003EC0" d:precision="string">-30.0000</X>
<Y d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="0000000000000040" d:precision="string">2.0000</Y>
<Z d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="0000000000003440" d:precision="string">20.0000</Z>

and in the Y access change the 2.0000 to 12.0000

Save the file and off you go :)

OK thanks. :)

Next question, I may of missed somthing here but I'm not sure, I'm already making an activity for the crane for W&B and I cant find the derailed hopper in the list, I have the crane enabled in the filter list, so what is missing? (its going to be a simple answer I bet it is :roll: )

I think this is the bit where you have to make sure RailNetwork is ticked in the right Fly-out box.. the hopper is actually under the Signals section..NOT in rolling stock!! :drinking:

I havnt bought this pack yet and I have a few questions.

Can you pick up anything with the crane or does it have to be a specially modelled item?

Can you pick up a loco using 2 cranes? IE one at each end?

Someone mentioned you have to have special pieces of track for it to work? what does that entail? relaying certain sections of track where you want the derailment to occur?

I am looking forward to buying this, Just wondering how it works to be fair. any info would be appreciated :D

As the original post says Rhys, read the manual provided on the Iron Horse site, it really does have some interesting information.

msey0002 wrote:Bill, did you animate that Class 43 powercar in the same way as the default HEA wagon?
Nah, it was the default static HST. Not animated. Just used it to set that shot up.

Just noticed a slight 'bug', if you have the crane+associated wagons separate from the GUV vans and try to couple the two together, you have to squeeze right upto the runner wagon and end up squashing the wagon between the crane & the GUV so its at 45 degrees and then couple the two together before it derails :o

Good morning
The diesel crane is a very nice model and will look at home on any permanent way siding
I experimented with placing it in Rail Simulator
Obviously in RS one can only drive the crane as the animation doesn't function
Thanks Paul
Kind regards Stephen

My two penn'orth:
It's a really lovely model and as others have said, is very ingenious in its implementation. One of those things that looks great sat in a siding but the cherry on top is that it can be "posed", too. Great work, Sly.

Hi Stephen

If you wish the crane to work in Rail Simulator as well as Rail Works there are a couple of extra files to copy across.

Copy the entire IHH\Railnetwork Folder across to RS

In Kuju\RailsimulatorCore\Inputmappers there is a file Crane_expert.bin .. copy this to same directory in RS

Cheers

Paul
