So you would like to make things personal Derek the bottom line is I have been a big supporter of your product from early days even attending shows like the Think Tank. I have never had any feed back from RS.COM Support.

The Bacup Branch is very special route of real a place and has had years worth of work put into it with its own buildings stations locos and stock. As I have said after the update I was unable to use the route editor do some track laying when you attempted to do so it would course Railworks to crash. And there was no dump file to send.

People keep saying there was no support for MSTS may be not from Microsoft but this forum was its support.

As for my comment about the Bin if there is no feed back what do you think people are going to think. If you are with the in crowd or face fits you get all the help you need.

Regards

I had a route after the update that would crash the editor every time I tried doing anything with it. On a hunch I went into RW_Tools and deleted the drivable consist I had on it and saved the scenario.

Fixed the issue on the spot.

John,

There's plenty of support here from other users for RW users with problems as far as I can see. You have to be prepared to let others to help you though. It's already been suggested that if you told us how you fixed your last RW update related problem then that might give a clue how to fix this one. So far I've not seen you give that information so please don't insinuate that there's no help to be had here.

HI

Here's an interesting one. Appears to be since the last update :-?

There is also an additional unexplained field where you can select a type of loco or all. Not sure why.

Yeah, noticed the weather choosing options are a pain to read now. That other one is weird. It's labaled "start location" but so is the field above the date also.
Maybe a coder was :drinking: while coding  .

It means that Stephen and I had a private conversation.
Check the start of the Package Manager thread in Stephen's first post.

This update has caursed a problem with my copy of RW that even has RS.com puzzeled. The DMP files have told RS.com that i'm placeing down a driver without a Loco somthing that should not be possable. Plus somthing I was not even doing. And somthing that did not happen before this update. I hope RS.com can work this one out.

I don't think it's Alchemy as i've never even heard of this programe and can't seem to find that on my computer. And this problem mainly seems to happen on the just trains newcastle to york freeroam. All other routes work ok 9times out of 10.

Has anyone noticed the audio issue has gotten a bit worse? I used to have the occasional 1/2 horn, or a steam engine will start clipping. Now I'm getting full engine drop outs depending how crowded the area is and horns just completely not working at all. Class 158 at Reading is a good scenario to see all the issues with the audio engine. I've tried this on two PC's now with identical results. Click on a 158, try the horn and all you get is a clicking sound, switch to cab and it might or might not play anything at all. Switch back outside and you might get no horn or you might get a 1/2 horn. The Class 47 has a near silent idle/running sound but the thrash audio is present and still same horn weirdness. Jump over to the yard where the HST etc are and things seem to start "catching up" by that point and slowly everything starts working as it should. In turn, start the scenario and go right to the HST yard and you'll notice those engines all have similar no horns at all buggyness going on until the game catches up. Or something.

As a matter of interest what OS are the two PCs running?

When I had WinXP 32-bit on this machine I don't think I ever experienced sounds dropping out but now I'm running Win7 64-bit it seems an all too frequent occurrence, especially with steam locos. As I understand it the main cause is RW using DirectSound for which Vista and Win7 don't support hardware acceleration. If that's right then I'd hope that in order to prolong the life of RW RSC switch to OpenAL or a sound system for which modern operating systems do support hardware acceleration.
