Hi,

I have had Railsim since its release and have recently upgraded my grpahics card to an ATI Radeon 5770 HD 1GB and get the error "Could not find valid technique for effect......" when i start Railsim.

I am now looking at buying Railworks but I dont want to get the same error and not be able to use the Sim, so my question is, are there anyone on this board using the above card with railworks or railsim for that matter.

Sounds like a Driver Clashing or just something to do with the drivers that are causing the error but im not sure since i dont get many Railworks errors plus im a Nvidia Fan so when i upgraded from my 8500gt to GTX 470 i just deleted blueprint.paks deleted the Steam .Blob files and changed my display setting simple as.

It then points to a file that supposed to be on my C:\Dev/ folder which I do not have?

Any help would be appreciated

When RS starts and the little launcher app appears have you gone into the options and reset and saved the screen resolution etc again ?

What card did you have installed before?

Did you uninstall the drivers for the previous card of just istall the new ones when windows found the new card? This can cause all sorts of compatibility problems...

Thats looks for me ...a link to shader Function.

The folder "dev" is important and always available.
If he is not with you installed, something is wrong with your installation.

i have been running a ati 5770 hd 1gb card for about 2 months and it has given me on problems on railworks
i run window 7 64 bit and just update the card from the a t i site

I also run with a 5770 and have had no problems.

As has been asked already, what card did you upgrade *from*?

Would be beneficial to know what OS you're using, currently and whether this has changed, too.

Hey guys for thos of you who have a 5770, what sort of frames are you getting in RW and at what settings?

I ask because My 9800 has died and looking to either buy a 5770, a 5830 or crossfire 2 4850s.
Since, I also play Bad company 2 quite alot i would like to just ask you guys what sort of performance you get from these cards
