Has anybody compared the IHH Class 20 to the new JT - just for size comparison etc - I don't want to get into or start any flame wars!

I have Paul's, and I'm tempted with the JT version too - just wanted to see how compatible they are with each other.

Realised I didn't comment on the product itself! Personally think it's a great well-rounded high quality product. It's got all the variations you would want as far as I know, a night cab, great sounds as well as two wagons, one having special effects to simulate the spray effect as well as sounds. Sounds like good value to me!

Reckon it must be popular. Only another 4 hours of downloading to go.... Pity I am booted into my Windows install as I could do with getting on with stuff on the Mac side.

Biggest difference I can see is the shape of the bonnet. IHH's tapers from bottom to top, JT''s doesn't seem to, so looks 'chunkier'.

With addons of this size I am going to have to look at my PC setup shortly. How many people only have a 25GB Hard Drive (actually a partition but not really flexible beyond that) dedicated to this stuff? I wonder if Windows can be booted off FireWire...

Few differences between JT and IHH Class 20:
1. JT's pack comes with separate night driving models (darker interior, gauges illuminated in cab).
2. JT model is drivable from cab to both directions. Right side cabview is optimised for driving to reverse direction. Controls are working on both sides in cabin and gauges illuminate on both sides too. Cab control lighting can be switched in/out.
3. JT Class 20 pack includes heavily weathered models.
4. Added rolling stock in JT version - animated FEA-F RHTT (Rail Head Treatment Train), an FNA Nuclear Flask carrier.

I'll buy IHH-s update too when released.

The horn is kind of wimpy, and isn't very loud. Doesn't sound very "get out of my way". I think the horn is weak sauce.

Ok, who am I kidding, that's the best horn I've heard in Railworks yet. 8)

Thanks to you too Klaabu for that info. I'm really interested in whether you could mix the two versions without it looking odd, i.e. comparison of overall dimensions etc., or whether they would be better kept apart.

Cheers

PS @ styckx: Great news about the horn - I hate it when they almost sound aplogetic for making a noise at all!

Hate to be picky, but for a $30 purchase I will be since I noticed it right away. The screw couplers need fixing.

Ooow - that doesn't look good. But the general standard of the models looks superb, as does the skinning. Pity I'm not really into later liveries - (I'm stuck in a late '60s/early '70s timewarp, both for the UK and the US). I think I'm going to have to splash out though - both on the IHH update AND the JT version. At least I can't be accused of not supporting the hobby!

I dig it otherwise. Great audio, great cab, great model, nice additional stock. Will grab IHH's update also. Will add some nice variety to visual and audio.
