IHH Class 20 "Choppers" to be released

Post by TransportSteve »

I see that Sly has amended his website to an imminent release of his Class 20's, see here - http://www.ironhorsehouse.co.uk/

Something new to play with this weekend then possibly, thanks a lot Paul.....

Are they not the old ones released via Steam?

The expansion pack is for the old ones that were released on Steam, the others, with new sounds, snowploughs and disc headcode boxed variants, are brand new, isn't that why they are payware ???

Is that the 3.99 thing? Not bad at all. So we who purchased the Type 1 via Steam can buy the Expansion pack from IHH? Or are we required to wait for the steam release?

And is the sound set included in the expansion pack?

My understanding from previous comments Paul has made is Steam will no longer be used as a distribution method for his work. He hasn't fully explained why other than "Steam doesn't work for independent producers like him". Fair enough it is his choice.

On a personal level I will only buy payware via Steam now. I can't remember when I last bought something other than via Steam or the EA Download Service since that offers re-installation if I louse things up. I have a bunch of Making Tracks and Bluearrow MSTS downloads backed up multiple times along with their unlock emails / keys so I can reinstall if required but I don't really want to go down that route having discovered the convenience of Steam and the EA Download Service.

That is correct.

Or are we required to wait for the steam release?

Why should you have to wait ? Buy it directly from Paul.

And is the sound set included in the expansion pack?

Possibly not, no....

Awesome. Sounds just like how the Class 37 pack was done. Just a small amount of cash that expands the base package to an entire new level. The new sound set would be nice.

Further to my last post I will make an official moderator post.

I will choose my words very carefully here so there can be no misunderstandings or accusations of bias or protecting payware vendors.

If there is any repeat of unwarranted flaming over sounds (or any other release from any vendor) or people making personal attacks on each other then the moderators have the powers to deal with it. I would much rather be watching the F1 practice and World Cup tonight and I am sure the other moderators have other things to do as well.

Everyone has the right to an opinion but please express it in the bounds of the forum code of conduct especially section 3 about posting in good will. If you post something as fact then be prepared to back it up with evidence.

The previous IHH threads have burnt far too much moderator time up and we all have better things to do than babysit flame-wars.
Kindest regards

Great, looking forward to it. Hope the sound set is included in the expansion pack, though! Can not see why it would not.

cheers, Steve

I notice from the screenshot of the green liveried ones that there is a gap between the 'D' and the '8' on D 8037,but not on D8152. As far as I'm aware, none of the green ones had a gap in the numbers. Can anybody confirm this?

No probs Mark, I wonder if you could cut and paste the sound.bin file to your other Class 20's, maybe worth experimenting with, and don't forget that JT will have a sound set with their Class 20's if the one that Paul provides is not your personal favourite. Let's wait and see what transpires.

Cheerz. Steve.

P.S. You've just reminded me John, that the first world cup game is about to start.......

Delay the release Paul, delay the release......

Nah, won't be buying the JT ones when I already have Paul's. But hopefully this expansion pack will do the trick. Cheers.

I don't think anyone is sure yet. Let's face it we're all speculating at this point. Until I see a statement from Paul I'm just taking everything I see as a guess.
