Re: New Sound Fading Effects
Richard, you are a true master of your art and I will continue to have the utmost faith in your sound add-ons, simply fan-tastic, thankyou.
Re: New Sound Fading Effects
What I'm upset about is that I waited so long to jump on Armstrong sound boat.
I'm going to be spoiled. With no discredit to all the sound packs I bought as they are all top notch stellar, the Class 47 sound set is by far my favorite. Talk about giving a locomotive I hardly ever drove a new lease on life. This audio plus some of the repaints of the 47. It may have to bump off the 37 for a little bit as my favorite locomotive to drive.

Re: New Sound Fading Effects
What I am sad about is that RSDL won't put these in the actual sim to save us all re-installing and faffing.
Excellent work Richard

Just like to add a big thanks to Richard for this sound improvement - cheers!

Hi Richard, ever since the new update the Class 43 power cats have no sound at all. I have the MTU pack and the MK3 pack. the MK3 do have the sounds, but the powercars are deadly quiet.

Re: New Sound Fading Effects
Apologies about this Mark, an early version of the patch overwrote all the files related to AP sound packs so if you didn't have the sound pack for a default loco, those sounds would go silent. This has now been fixed with instructions on how to make sure you only install the correct files relevant to you. You'll unfortunately need to verify your files before installing the patch again.
Once again, sorry about this!
Just a word regarding everyone else's comments, thanks very much, I'm glad the new effects are being enjoyed so much.

No need to be sorry, Richard, it's a terrific service you are providing. I did not understand your reply, though, I do have the sound pack for the HST, so I am presuming it should work? I have the MTU soundpack

Re: New Sound Fading Effects
Ah, the Valenta sound pack is strictly the default replacement sound whilst the MTU & VP185 sound packs are extras. So if you don't have the valenta sound pack then things would have gone wrong with the old patch.
I hope that's more understandable.

Perfectly understandable, thank you.
I am not in tune into all this tech malarkey, so in order to rectify this, should I download the MTU pack from your site again and install it? cheers

Re: New Sound Fading Effects
You need to try and get the default Class 43.proxyxml file back which is located in this folder C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulator\Audio\RailVehicles\Diesel\Class 43 but now been overwritten by my faulty patch.
You can either:
- Verify the intergrity of your files on Steam to get the file back
- Find the file on a backup
- Buy the Valenta sound pack

Re: New Sound Fading Effects
Deffinetly going to buy the Valenta, just not yet
So, when I verify the files, or swap the proxyxml from a back up, and I install the MTU pack, will the fading effects be applied to the MTU, or will this be updated later on? So sorry for all the questions on a Saturday afternoon of all days, I really am new to this stuff

Re: New Sound Fading Effects
Tis no problem
. Once you've got the proxyxml file back, you will need to reinstall the MTU sound pack and then redownload the patch from the website for the newer version. Alternatively, if your download link is still in date on my site, you can download the sound pack again which includes the new fading effect so would mean you don't have to keep installing the patch.
Re: New Sound Fading Effects
Very good, will do, cheers for the exemplary support
Re: New Sound Fading Effects
Hiya again, Richard. I verified the files and re downloaded and installed the MTU, MK3 and Class 37 packs, but there seems to be no fading sound, just the normal effects (which were very very good to begin with)
