Class 101 DMU released

Re: Class 101 DMU released
It's the material, not the texture - you need to edit the geo itself. I guess we could hex edit it or something, I don't fancy finding the right parts...
My posts are my opinion, and should be read as such.

Thanks Dave.nelson wrote:... I've now added headlights to most of my stock using this method. Many thanks to Sean for this great mod...
So it's just a case of inserting the lighting section into the relevent bin (xml) files? That sounds easy enough, expecially as I've done all my 158s and 66s using the uploads from here (the 66s were fun as a lot of editing needed to be sone to get them all to run).
Does the position of the lights have to be changed in any way?

Re: Class 101 DMU released
Hi Fodda, no the lights are fine, they were adjusted by Sean to shine further down the tracks. It can be tedious if you have many variations of your models but it's worth it. What I did was to copy Sean's 158 instructions file, edit the necessary entries i.e RSC, Class101pack, .etc and save it as Class101 Headlights fix or similar, then all you have to do is copy and paste the new entry into the .bin file. I've done this for all my models, it's much quicker than editing each entry every time.
Be aware that you must check the address of the location of the "Lights" folder, it hasn't always got "Default" in it. If the game can't find the Lights folder it won't work.
Have fun.
Regards
Dave

Haha, didn't see this. Thanks for the thanks Dave.nelson wrote:Hi Fodda, you need to download Sean Harris's 158 headlights mod, file ID 27471, from this site and follow the instructions on how to edit bin files. It's easy enough, find the SERZ icon in your Railworks folder, C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks, (I'd copy it and paste it onto the desktop for ease), (ALWAYS MAKE A BACKUP OF THE FOLDER YOU ARE WORKING ON INCASE OF MISTAKES)go to the class101pack folder C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\RSC\Class101Pack\RailVehicles\Diesel\Class101\BRBlue\DMBS, then click and drag the class101_DMBS_blue .bin file onto the SERZ icon, this will create an .xml file in the same folder which you can edit by right clicking on it. you then need to read the Word Pad file in the class 158 headlights folder, copy and paste the enclosed .bin file entry to the class101.xml file and change the 158 entries to match which ever train you are editing. I.E. change the provider entry, the product entry and the folder address if necessary. i.e, "Provider "RSC", Product "Class101Pack", folder "RailVehicles\Diesel\Class101\Default\Lights\Cl47_Main_Headlight.xml</BlueprintID>"
Save it and then drag the .xml file back onto the SERZ icon which will change the .bin file to the edited version. You should now have headlights when you press "H". You need to do this with every driveable version of the 101, i.e. any .bin file with a D in it.
Make sure you copy the Lights folder from the the 158 folder to C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\RSC\Class101Pack\RailVehicles\Diesel\Class101\Default. The last thing to do is make a back up folder i.e. "Class101- Headlights" because the next RW upgrade will wipe these changes out. (Unless of course RS have added headlights to the 101)
Also if you have AP's 101 two-tone pack make sure it is installed first before editing the .bin file.
I've now added headlights to most of my stock using this method. Many thanks to Sean for this great mod.
Let me know if you have problems.
Regards
Dave
If there is enough demand, I'll get a pack made soon.

Without sounding big-headed Dave, I think it works a treat - works just like my other Headlight Mod packs. Shines a good distance.

LOL... Oh dear. Tried it and ended up with all the passengers and the driver sat outside the train. I think I'll wait for RSC to update it. Until then, no 101 driving for me. Love the light system, best thing in RW yet.

What route was this on and was the Kuju>RailSimulator box ticked?Fodda wrote:LOL... Oh dear. Tried it and ended up with all the passengers and the driver sat outside the train. I think I'll wait for RSC to update it. Until then, no 101 driving for me. Love the light system, best thing in RW yet.

Re: Class 101 DMU released
Bath - Templecombe route, the default 101 scenario there. And I'm not sure if it's ticked or whatever, but when I did the 158 and 66 light systems, I didn't bother with any "ticking" and they worked fine. As I say, don 't worry, I'll wait for an update. Which is what I'm doing with all the other non-updated stuff anyway. I can't go back to driving an engine without a proper TS 2012 light system... Just doesn't look right.

It's worth remembering that there is no guarantee that the 101 will ever be updated.......Fodda wrote:Bath - Templecombe route, the default 101 scenario there.
