Big Boy is coming

Post by styckx »

He announced it at Hawk's site. (with a pic) I know there are a decent number of US fans here so just passing the word along. Considering how awesome the Challenger is I can't wait to see what Sly puts in this beast!

Indeed. Part of my childhood day dreaming will be complete when this is released. THIS is the locomotive most young U.S. railfans dreamed of being able to see in person running fully steamed up. So awesome I'll get to be able to get as close as humanly possible now since unless a millionaire comes forward the real things will be kept as a museum/static display pieces forever.

Absolutely brilliant news! This is the brilliance of Railworks. A locomotive that will probably never be seen in steam again will steam into Railworks and demonstrate how awesome these machines were!! Great work Sly!

Hi

I think there is some sort of mix up with this loco, this isn't sly's model. This is the Challenger loco now available on the Railworks
website under pay addons,in fact i only bought it myself last night, and if you are quick you can have 25% off until the 4th June. This
and all the other US Stuff. If you go onto sly's website ihh i think you, will find all british locos, the next one on the list being some
diesel Westerns. The reason i bought the Challenger yes for the discount, also the Scenarios look good as well.By the way this loco
was the biggest steam loco ever built,to carry heavy loads without double heading.Recommended folks,as the Railworks US routes
were crying out for some steam, especially if you are a steam fan like me.Cajon Pass here we come YE Hah
:D :D :D

The Challenger is Sly's model also. The link is definitely a Big Boy, which Sly is also producing. The subtle hint being it's a 4-8-8-4 and not a 4-6-6-4 among a variety of other visual cues that only the Big Boys had.

What's listed on IHH is not in any sort of release order.

He also mentioned just once in passing about a week ago he had a surprise coming so that's probably another reason it's not to be found on the IHH website yet. (or the fact it doesn't appear to be unwrapped and painted yet) Very cool surprise. Sly's grand return to the NA market with a Big Boy.

Yeah, very many thanks for the heads-up Bill, I'm sure that the US railfans based over here will be extremely excited with this news, I just hope that the "kids" over there don't rip this Payware release to shreds with their constant nagging and "Why hasn't this been done" type posts, which appear far too commonly on the trainsim forum, unfortunately.

Can almost guarantee there will be something - I have all but given up on the RW Trainsim forum for that reason. Anything like this will also be a magnet for the anti RW/RS fraternity (why - MSTS, Trainz, RS, RW are only games!).

Beautiful work Sly - I hope it is received well :)
