Rik - try it, you might like it (the RW version that is).
oh lord default MSTS!@#!@#! I haven't touched MSTS in years but that default creeky wood floor sound the consist audio the Acela had will never leave my memory. That has to rank up there as the absolute worst audio match up I've yet to hear to this day. Am I in driving an Acela or Noahs Ark?

Rik.

I don’t know of any Railroad that has optioned their ES44AC’s with desktop controls, all of ones I’ve operated have had the “new” conventional upright control stand with computer screens.

Misunderstanding on my part, then, having never been on board one. I assumed, wrongly it seems, that the ES44 and the D9 had the same style of desk, but having had a bit of a Google, I can see what you mean. e.g. ES44AC vs Dash 9.

Nonetheless, if RSC have managed to get the colour MFD panels to work, *that's* what I was really referring to, i.e. the ones we have in the GEVO at the moment that don't do diddly.

Cheers for helping me learn something else, tho :)

So get rolling in that Dash-9 Rik! It's a fine beauty and Oovee deserve a ton of credit for that audio work. It's leaps and bounds beyond anything I've experienced audio wise in Railworks to date.

They got them to work somewhat but some of the most obvious/important info that the screens display is missing completely.

I took some photo’s with a professional digital camera a couple of years ago that showed the data that those screens provide while I was operating a ES44, if you’d like I could post them here.

Hehe, I would, but I don't have it yet, Bill -- Simon at RSC says it'll take a couple of days to spring the codes out of Steam :)

Praise indeed and I look forward to being able to experience it 8)

No idea whether whatever they've achieved is as a result of limitations of the scripting system or a lack of access to the prototype, but I guess something is better than nothing and it's a step in the right direction.

I think that'd be appreciated by most of us, DJ, thanks.

AFAIK the earliest ones had them, at least with BNSF, possibly CP as well

Interesting, thanks, DJ.

All the more puzzling as to why even the basic stuff like speed, t/e, etc. weren't implemented in RW.

Yes, well done on winning the screenshot competition Rik, a superb shot......Us mere mortals didn't deserve to win, mind you, I'd already bought the loco before the winner was announced, so, that could have been a trifle embarrassing.. :o

Thanks Steve, you're very kind :)

Stop that; I'll not be able to fit my head through the doorframe otherwise

Heh, RSC seem good sorts, I'm sure they'd sort anyone with that predicament out. Mind you, what a predicament to have, eh?

All the best,

Rik.

Has anyone driven the Oil and Coal scenario? Or is it Coal and Oil? Anyway, when I get to Monument I drop off my oil tankers and couple up to the coal hoppers, draw forward and then set back to the second rake of coal hoppers with another Dash 9 at the other end. As instructed I use Ctrl and = to swap ends but on doing so I get no engine sounds. Has anyone else had this problem?

Are you still able to control the loco?

Yes. Although I'm not sure if the power is coming from it or the two locos at the rear.
