Looking for verification of this bug. Looks like some scripting stuff. Obviously not a complaint. Just want to verify before sending it over in a support email so it's "official" :)

This is A Barstow Scenario: Dash to Lenwood

After refueling you need to couple to this first locomotive. Upon coupling up the second loco's lights kick in. All of them. The second locomotive lights will turn off when you turn off your loco's lights. Also when you turn on your lead loco's step/porch lights, the step, porch lights on the second loco turn off and just leave the headlight/ditch lights.

Image

Next you have to couple up to two sets of locomotives on another track, and then things get all sorts of weird. :)

I don't have the Dash 9 yet, but that's a pretty weird bug! 8)

Indeed a weird bug, but on an even more positive note about the Dash-9. I just got done giving my entire SD40-2 soundset a major overhall by cutting, pasting, editing xml's, and renaming files of this Dash-9 sound set and stuck them in the oven for 30 minutes on high. I just spread that 15 dollars out even thinner. A great loco and with some thinking and about 20 minutes of free time anyone can give their SD40-2 fleet an audio makeover without losing the SD40-2 default engine audio itself. Everything else has been replaced, plus the bonus of adding the pops hisses, and cab audio. Best $15.00 spent on this game in ages.

Sounds like a good idea for the horn (with the exception of how the horn sounds in the cab), bell and radio chatter but the “pops hisses” on a Dash-9 are different from the “pops hisses” on an SD40-2.

I still can't get 2 diesels lashed together to both emit exhaust smoke, yet, Iceman has done it in this screenie. Do you have to have both locos facing the same way, or, something ??

Yes, but considering all my other options... This one is the best alternative to pretty up the SD40-2 set. (yes I know there are SD40-2 replacement sounds available. I don't like them at all)

The universe is a funny thing, isn't it?

I mean, I started this thread because I, personally, didn't see the appeal of this subject matter, at least not at this moment in time and had no intention to buy it any time soon.

And then, possibly because a butterfly flapped its wings on a leaf in a Venezuelan jungle, I win this week's RS.com screenshot compo, whose prize is.... <drumroll> the new Dash 9 :D <rimshot>

Hehe.

Second day in a row I've bought a loco - I'll be needing to check into shopaholics anonymous. An impressive beast. Also a good chance for a "how far we have come" comparison - fire up MSTS and load up the original BNSF dash 9 (yes the core one, not one of the much superiour addons).

Rik - try it, you might like it (the RW version that is).

Aye, I will do, Dave, just as soon as RSC get their allocation of free codes from Steam for my compo prize :D

Seriously, I'm looking forward to seeing "the desk" working as it ought. What's the chance of RSC retro-fitting it to the ES44AC, I wonder...?
