Re: Upcoming Dash 9
Nice models, physics need work along with the desktop screen data but that was expected. The exhaust just like with the default ES44 looks like it's coming from a 2 stroke EMD in notch 8 not a 4 cycle GE.
The sounds are very good with the exception of the wheel-slip. The radio chatter is good especially the dispatcher getting keyed in.
Overall it's the best North American model to date. It would be nice to see the ES44 brought up to this level.

Re: Upcoming Dash 9
I would say, you can only say the physics of the addon are bad if you only test the addon. If a good physics model is combined with lots of bad ones, the good will seem bad.djt01 wrote:Nice models, physics need work along with the desktop screen data but that was expected.

Lol, spend twelve hours a day in these rattle traps and then tell us how accurate the physics are.

Feel free to do the physics for them.

If someone could explain how RailWorks interprets actual data from the prototype I'd love to, so would
a lot of other people.

What's wrong with experimenting?

Others already have with no luck.

Great, then point us in the direction of those who have had “good” luck?

Re: Upcoming Dash 9
What do you define as good luck?
I heard they did well on the class 60 and the 390.

Realistic physics.

Who, "did well on the class 60 and the 390"?

So are you telling us that RailWorks is only capable of representing the realistic physics of European rail equipment?

No, I am saying that that the physics of any engine are able to be realistically done.djt01 wrote:So are you telling us that RailWorks is only capable of representing the realistic physics of European rail equipment?

Lol, then why haven't they then?
Maybe someone can fill us in on the “secret” behind the accurate physics that only the European equipment possesses.
By the way it will take more than realistic “engine” physics to pull off anything that would represent real world train handling.
