It used to work before - both AI and user driven and with the expected sounds. Now, it seems only AI trains sound right and the time table editor factors in a extra loco unit as dead weight - and for user trains it sounds like an idle engine. I did a trail on the Cajon route: the A-unit spinning and 3 idling B-unit adding their monotonic growl - but only on the user train!
Not much point maiking scenarios with US freight or even the Just Trains Voyager - or as the case may be dual headed steamers on Hagen-Siegen
The P8 (BR38) from astauder is great fun on this route. On the don hill from Alterhundem to Kreuztal with 4-5 coaches it can easily reach 140 km/h. The trick is to cut the regulator to 1-2% and roll the stearing forward of 80% - as if to let the steam move pistons and allow gravity to draw the mass of loco and wagons without having to fiddle with the friction between pistons and cylinders.
Hopefully this and other monor glitches will soon be fixed.
