. . . anyways I've got my review for the 9F/Evening Star recently released on Steam!

Locomotive- 10/10

What's more to say? Beautifully captured! I enjoy the fact that the Regular Black variants are included along side the Evening Star. I'll say it's the best balance between being too shiny or being to dull I've seen in a RailWorks model! Well done Sly!

Extra Stock 8/10

I love the Iron Ore car and brakevan, wonderful additions my fleet (Expect to see them in my future scenarios ). The other stock used in scenarios isn't all that impressive if you already had the Bonus Pack (I did), if you didn't then the 8 becomes an easy 10.

Sounds 9/10

I said this before but. . . FINALLY! A REALISTIC BRITISH WHISTLE! I think that no one here can argue that the whistle is the best we've heard in RW so far. The chuffing is. . . the dreaded Black Five's. Although one thing prevents that from making the sounds go from an 9 to a 3: The high speed sounds. R-E-A-L-I-S-T-I-C! The best chuffing I've heard in a RW Steam Engine! Once again well done Sly!

Scenarios 8/10

The scenarios that I've completed were fun and enjoyable. I admit I had some trouble getting underway in 'Pines Express', but I eventually did it. I only found a few Glaring issues (I.E. In-descriptive instructions, derailments in 'Summer Saturday', etc.) but I'm sure those can be easily fixed.






*I'm not sure that the Chocolate And Cream coaches are included in this pack, but I've never seen them before, so I'm including it.

I completely concur with what you've written Ben, for me it is hands down the best loco I've got for RW, and it comes with an excellent package of "extras" (stock and scenarios) to complement it

They aren't? It sure sounds like it at low speeds.

I would have said they sound like the Black five exactly at low speeds( although the black five sounds nothing really like the the real thing ), having been behind 92214 a few days prior to getting the 9f, it doesn't sound that much like a 9f at low speeds but i high speeds they are great but maybe a little quiet On mine also my the safety valves sounds appear to not be working, hope you can fix that Finally the whistle seems remarkably familiar, sounds quite like the one in trainz simulator

It appeard nobody has noticed the lamps and Guard that operate with the headlights. A very neat little addition, for free no less

Absolutely, the high speed 'about to attack the inclines' chuffing is fantastic.

Don't forget the nice little feature of the movable cab roofvent; don't know if everybody noticed this? You show a pic of it fully open!

Has anyone noticed the sanders emitting steam when applying sand? Excellent attention to detail, although the clean black version only seems to be emitting from the drivers side (on my install).

I have noticed the roof vent and sanders. Very realistic. Anyone else here notice the sparks from the chimney when you encounter wheel slip? I just now found that when I was making a Scenario in poor weather.

That's right, I almost forgot about the sparks, and the sanders steam (although I thought it was the sand itself). Wish that all steam locos in RW will update one day to the standard that Sly introduced here

Well the main windows slide, but that was quite easy to find. There must be some more hidden features then.

If you listen carefully you can hear some muffled shouts. Perhaps Sly has kidnapped Derek, hidden him in the tender and we have to find out how to get him out
