RS.com team addition?
RailSimulator.com Hi folks, I'm Simon and I've just joined the RailSimulator.com team. Thanks for all your posts, comments and feedback so far - keep 'em coming! Simon
As I am very intrested in future of RailSimulator I am very pleased that RS.com can hire new members for the team since it tells that the situation is economically ok. Now it would be nice to know more about Simon and what he does. I hope he can do programming(C++ and/or LUA) in addition to the feedback and testing.
Some might find these kind of team addition news dull ("just give us trains") but it really gives insight to the hidden background which will ultimately make influence to the franchise in long term.

And yes, I forgot: Welcome Simon!
Re: RS.com team addition?
While it's not earth shattering news, I found it interesting nonetheless. It clearly shows RSC is growing and surviving if they can afford to hire new people to fill voids and help keep up with growth. Either way it's good news!SaMa1 wrote: Some might find these kind of team addition news dull ("just give us trains")
Welcome Simon.
Didn't they just move into a new office too?

Re: RS.com team addition?
Congrats Simon on becoming a part of the RailWorks team.
Hope you'll have a great experience working with them. I can imagine that the RailWorks team works hard on making this an even better product and in bringing us new goodies too. They show that they are real "Train-Simming" fans themselves and have a passion for it. And even if some of us RW users whine and complain at times, I feel confident in saying that probably most users have respect and admiration for all of you guys and overall we much appreciate all of your efforts there and enjoy using your products.
Cheers!

Re: RS.com team addition?
I know that RS.com is a business primarily and all that but I want to sincerely thank those guys for the work they do in making this hobby what it is. Things are now cutting edge and visually amazing.
Hand on heart I want to personally thank Derek for producing the all time classic that is the RW Class 37. Having grown up as a kid with those machines plying their trade past my back garden along the West Highland Line, it's a dream come true to have such a life-like model of my own to use in the virtual reality of Railworks.
After the failure of MSTS2 to materialise, without RS.com we would all be stuck with BVE or the aging MSTS1, which however good they were at the time, have been totally eclipsed by the visual wonder of Railworks.
Long may your growth and development continue, keep that new stuff coming guys!

The first thing he needs to do is to get the name of the sim right "RailSimulator?"

Not to mention the working title just prior to release was "Railsimulator 2: RailWorks".AndiS wrote:RailSimulator.com is the name of the company which further develops RailWorks.
