Error installing ZZA Snowplough
Hi.
Is anyone else having problems installing, the freebie, ZZA Snowplough from Just Trains?
I cannot install it into Railworks, it throws up an error that RW registry entry cannot be detected.
I am guessing that it is because my RW installation is not in the default C:.
I have contacted support.
All the best
Clive

Re: Error installing ZZA Snowplough
That most likely will be the reason. I managed to install it fine as i've got steam installed to C: drive.

Hi,
This isn't a fault with the ZZA installer, I believe it's an issue with the Steam/RailWorks registry settings not being correct when you installed Steam or some clean-up software has removed the registry settings, and hence our installer does not know where to place the files. We have a fix for this issue on the RailWorks support page which you can access via http://www.justtrains.net/support.asp (select RailWorks from the drop down list of products and then look for the registry fix tool)
Thanks,
Simon

Hi Simon, I've not received the email. I checked my spam folder as has been suggested, and I am definitely subscribed, since I have been receiving the email for months now, except today

If you have not received it by the end of tomorrow then please drop me a PM - it takes many hours for them all to go out as there are tens of thousands of email address that they are going to. Thanks for your patience.msey0002 wrote:Hi Simon, I've not received the email. Re: Error installing ZZA Snowplough
I was going to say that none of the newsletters from Just Trains has reached me before at least 2.00 pm for the last 4 months, one at 7pm, so, I'll expect it when I see it, many thanks to Just Trains for this excellent freebie anyway.

Re: Error installing ZZA Snowplough
Well everything installed fine here and I have just been testing them out on the supplied scenario for the Oxford - Paddington route.
Not sure if I have misunderstood the manual section about lighting though ? It says lights would not have been used when ploughing because they would be destroyed. I definitely have a flashing light on the front end of the consist as I whiz along the line towards Slough. It is flashing but I failed to capture it in the "on" state.

Re: Error installing ZZA Snowplough
Is that a flashing red or a steady white? If red then the consist is probably being driven in reverse - IE the wrong way.Easilyconfused wrote:Well everything installed fine here and I have just been testing them out on the supplied scenario for the Oxford - Paddington route.

OK so now I am more confused than normalAlexFord wrote:Is that a flashing red or a steady white? I definitely have a flashing light on the front end of the consist as I whiz along the line towards Slough. It is flashing but I failed to capture it in the "on" state. It is set up so that when driving forward (with the plough designed to show snow) there is no front white light, but there is a red rear flashing lamp, but of course there is no snow effect on the rear facing following ZZA as it is trailing. Hope that is of help.
The train is definitely moving forwards towards London with the reverser at +100% I have already in the scenario passed Tilehurst and Twyford and got credited for that in the scenario report.
The light is a flashing red light (I think - I am 100% colour blind but I can tell the difference between a flashing light and a steady one) at the front end of the consist that is furiously shovelling snow out of the way. The rear plough has no lights visible at all.
At the start of the scenario I did what I was told and set the points and got the green so off I went forwards.
I must say I do like the snow effects although I am not sure what passing trains make of my artificial blizzard hitting them as they hurtle past in the opposite direction
Kindest regards

Well, I have downloaded and installed fix and the problem still exists.
Surely this does not mean i have to reinstall Steam and RW on C: to get this installed?
