update DIDN'T cause more bugs. it was my stupid file copyin!

Post by ghawk2005 »

Why is it, after the latest update to railworks its caused even more bugs.

Firstly overhead wires when viewed from below are all black, when viewed from above absolutely fine. this is on Ox-paddington AND newcastle - york modern. why has this happened?

and secondly the number 2 camera view is situated higher up than it used to be, and now just looks all strange and outta focus. i dnt mind the updates but why ruin bits that were perfectly fine to begin with? sort it out people.

Hi, I have not seen any issues with the wires, and the focus on camera 2 has shifted from looking at 0/0/0 at the base of the loco (looking at the floor) to eye level.

regards

Personally I prefer the new angle for camera 2, it seems like I can see what's going on a bit better than with the previous setting

I just checked it, it's true! No more peeking under the engine! I really did not miss it. So much that I did not even notice that it was gone.

I agree, the new default settings for the 2 and 3 views are much better - more like what I was used to from MSTS also.

i'll try downlaoding the latest graphics drivers and experimenting with my graphics card settings then if noone else has seen the blacked out overhead wires.

as for the camera settings, its not a big issue, just that i prefer the old camera angle. nevermind!

That's where I would look for the cause as I checked the wires on the routes you mentioned and I could not see what you described ( without a picture of what you are seeing ).

Once we convinced you that we don't see that you see, as far as wires are concerned, you might consider changing the title of the thread (by editing the subject in your first post). Else we have another "update causes more bugs" thread which describes a new feature and a local graphics (card or settings) issue.

Fair call, most problems are caused by users or incompatibilities. It is good to see that as new RW users come on board here most of the new ones are more than open to solutions to their issues instead of ignorantly letting both barrels go in RS.com's general direction. Something more than a few old hands could learn from.

i'm not new to train sims, railworks OR forums, i just rarely comment on here. but yeh, i'm open to any suggestions or help coz unlike some on here, i don't claim to "know it all"

it is definately not the graphics drivers as i have updated them. I will try to get a screenshot. something definately very strange going on.

Hi
Calling people ignorant helps nobody, there have been some issues since the last update that is a fact! but the way to get guidance if a user think they have issues, is to contact RS.COM.

i have tried updating my graphics drivers, resetting every setting on both game and Nvidia control panel to default, and there is STILL a problem with the overheadwires being blacked out when viewed from below.

i have tried print screening but when i try to insert the captured image into Paint, or word, it just comes out blank. really not very useful at all.

In case you didn't know pressing ctrl+s creates a screen shot which is saved in the pc users picture folder in .png format. It is then just a matter of converting it to a .jpeg
