Both as good as each other in my opinion, once the new A4 pack comes out that will swing it,but even then not by much as we have to pay for more, but we do get the Teaks.

Ditto. Both are equal. Pick one you won't be disappointed by either.

Cheers, what about scenario opportunities, which has the most potential?

In real life, which was the loco which got around the most?

I'd go for the 9F there, AFAIK the A4s stayed on the ECML until the Deltics came and they were retired.

personal preference is the 9F purely because it's the loco i like the most in real life.

A4s do lots of railtours though, whereas sadly 9Fs don't, so an A4 will fit in on a modern route equally well if you want accuracy.
Currently recreating Salisbury to Exeter 50s/60s.
almost all yard, trackwork, scenery and signalling complete salisbury - wilton. Trackwork 2013 standard to Gillingham, Older beyond. - Abandoned due to newer tools in subsequent TS versions.

The 9F had a much shorter service career, but there were more of them and they were used over a large area of the country. The A4 was really designed to do one job - run the main expresses along the ECML, something it did very well for 25 years.

The A4s did wander a bit after the Deltics took over, but some of them did find a new home(for a few years) running the Glasgow Buchanan St - Aberdeen expresses. I have actually toyed with the idea of recreating the route that they ran along, but the prospect of recreating the cityscape around the line out of Buchanan St is a daunting one.
Expanding the TS wagon fleet.

Interesting stuff, fellas, please keep them coming :).

I have a few more questions

Did the 9Fs ever work the Scottish region?

Did the 9Fs have passenger workings, or where they mainly frieght?

Now for the RW Model, which would you say is the most 'fun' to drive, the 9F or the A4?

It depends what you most likely to prefer, Flying up the ECML at 75mph + with 10 coaches

Or trying to haul a very long freight train or secondly a long passenger traain of about 12coaches over the mendips unassissted.

9Fs worked pretty much all over I think. 9Fs did see their share of passenger working particularly on busy summer saturdays. They were seen most common for passenger workings on the S&D line as they cuold take 11 coaches easily. Finally, In the 80s Evening star was restored and ran on mainline so could be used on any routes really.

The fun side again depends if you want a blitz in a 'Silver streak' on the ECML. or if you want to haul long freight trains and fighting gradients. Both are equal in quality, detail, fun and sounds.

And if you didn't know buying any of the IHH products, you get a bundle of extra stock. Same that comes with his class 45 or class 20 packs. modified 47, modified 55, GUV parcel van. with the 9F pack you also get a new Brake van and finally big iron ore wagons.

9Fs did passenger workings over the Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway, at least. Probably elsewhere as well.

They were often seen on the Great Central Railway in the late 50's early 60's.
