Problems with camera view 4

Post by mundo »

Hello
Just wondering whether anyone else has come across this.
The camera view 4 seems to be occasionally unstable. Jumping around very quickly when in the overhead position causing very low frame rates, as if it isn't quite sure where it wants to be.
I 've had this problem twice so far. Once on the GARL route and once on Hedborogh North. Not a major problem, but in combination with the reappearance of the crazy shaky cabin view, I'm wondering whether I should send RSC an email?

Windows 7, ATI graphics card, RW V106.7a

Cheers

Had it happen only once, very recently when I was in GARL, just after I bought it infact.

Happened when I flicked form view '3' to '4' (which I don't do very often, simply because I don't use view '3' much).

Have tried several times since and the problem's not returned.

I got the same problem mate. Not sure what to do about it, might try Verifying the game cache.

Hi

I've had this several times recently. Not sure if it happened after I installed GARL or after the "German" update. I've only noticed it so far on my own route so I'd thought it might be something in there, but if others also have an issue I'll give RSC an email

hi, ...

I think the camera has a problem in the merged double trainsets and after CAB change in the reverse direction.
This means that change to the rear cab ... then the camera does not know where to position themselves.
I mean, it just occurred to me when I drive trains twice in the reverse direction.

Thanks for the replies guys. It's not just me :D

I think Iceman is right. I had the problem when running the shuttle scenario on GARL and the DT class 20 coal scenario on Hedborough North. Both involve switching cabs and reversing directions. This problem may have been around before the 106.7a update, but I don't recall seeing it before.

I'm not too worried about this as I'm building my route on a different computer using XP and an unupdated version of RW for safety (a practice I've adopted from commercial work)

I'll send RSC an email tomorrow.

Cheers

My issues have also mostly (can't say 100%) when driving a HST in both directions and switching cabs

I concur -- seems to be when swapping ends a few times, it gets confused and it results in a rapidly alternating "hybrid" view of 3 & 4 which sends me bug-eyed...

Will also drop a note to RSC.

Cheers,

Rik.

I seem to be having a slightly different problem with Camera view 4. It seems to have defaulted in some way to the overhead bridge view and I cannot get any of the sideline track views to show no matter how frequently I press '4'. Is there an obvious solution to this?

I have noticed that recently (in the last few weeks?) using the '4' view gives an overhead view (which I actually don't like much...) more often than not. I did get the rather better track-side view about 3 times in 20 attempts.

So, something's changed from before as it used be be a good variation of views.
