I never got rid of it :-? But now its worse than ever. I feel MSTS coming back,as much as i would hate to have to install it,i want to play RW but there are just too many errors i can't even make a decent scenario, its so hopeless.

it's not that bad, (in my case at least) and besides if you were to go back to MSTS after railworks you'd notice the massive backwards step in graphics. with the RSC commitment to railworks as well it's worth reporting your problems to them, and in many cases they are resolved in future updates.

Well.....at least NWC wont crash on me,but thats the problem, even the most brilliant of routes on MSTS just cannot beat RW,its that simple, but oh so sad. If MSTS only had the graphics i'd go back to that in no time!

If i sent in all my reports i would be sending one in about every 10 minutes, but i've got better things to do than sit around firing pointless reports off. I just let it crash 5 times and then switch it and i leave it. Completely pointless doing anything else because it will just keep crashing.

As a constructive bit to this post,it,for me at least appears to be when i am in built up areas (which in routes like W&B is nearly all the time!) that my screen flashes and i get the "Something Bad Happened" error, whereas up until about a month or so ago i had it maybe once or twice a day,i now get it at least 5 times an hour, which is precisely why i lose my patience! It makes me wonder if it is certain assets that do it,or the asset count?? I certainly notice on my WIP route that when i enter the very detailed areas my FPS drops slightly, but occasionaly the screen just goes blank and i get the magic "ping" to tell me RW has expired...

Cheers,
Mark

You need to look at your Graphics settings. I have not had the "Something bad happened" error since I adjusted the graphic settings as suggest in the theads for Wales and Boarders 3b in january. It is certainly not a Steam problem and is it seems closely related to your graphic card drivers which is why only a small number of people (relatively) are affected at any one time.

I am getting 'something bad has happened' after about 3 minutes of playing, whatever route I am on, it was bad when the last update got applied, but the 'German' update has rendered the game useless. Also when the box pops up saying that something bad has happened, I try to click save report, but then my PC locks up, and I have to force quit. Please help.

Can anyone check to make sure save game works? I was driving the King on South Devon banks (Ive been having a job getting the scenarios to work, but Im uncertain if thats a problem with the new update or not) when I saved in newton abbott, just before splitting the train. I split the train, pulled forward and the game crashed. Hum. Load it back in from the save, looks like everything is ok, but the key controls dont work. The mouse controls and view controls DO works, but as I cant find the regulatior click point its not much use. Also, part of the cab looks displaced forward.

I cant expect them to check ALL third party stuff as well, so I can hardly complain. But Im just curious to find out if its a problem with just this scenario and route, or its happening on other routes as well. There is also an issue of consists being broken, I find clicking on them and moving them in the editor fixes it, but its a bit of a strange bug even if its fixable.

As I say, I cant lay all this at the door of the new update, but it might be worth having a look to see if anyone else can replicate it, or its happening on other routes.

I get a similar result. On loading the save there is no response to the keyboard but everything else seems normal. If I try to load again from the save I get a 'something bad' error but if I load another scenario, exit it, then reload the save the keyboard works again. So far I've only tried with the Oxford - Padd route, one default scenario (Rush Hour Run) and the '6A11 Robeston - Theale' scenario from the TEA pack but the results seem consistent.

I'm sure that this didn't happen prior to the update as I used the 'Rush Hour Run' scenario quite a bit and always could resume from a save without a problem.
