A layout similar to Carnforth or Tyseley would be good or maybe even recreate Barrow hill or Shildon with those old great stacking coal towers on big sheds! Station wise Maybe a nice terminus station would be good

I'd echo the Tyseley suggestion, it gives a bit of an option for a small heritage section if that's your sort of thing

In the meantime I'm thoroughly enjoying exploring V3 :D

Aye, it's a brilliant route, thank you so much, Darren :D. Personally, I would love to see a single track branch line, and as mentioned before, a large terminus station on the mainline. Perhaps, around the terminus, a Cross Rail line, such as the one from Edinburgh Park to Newcraighall via Haymarket, Waverley and Brunstane? As far as I know, Brunstane to Newcraighall is single track so it's kind of hitting two birds with one stone :)

Question:
Building a scenario and wondered why, when placing an AI freight train starting from the east of Lanyeard station to go towards Deerview, does the path take it via 'Lanyeard 3' and not 'Lanyeard 2'? The only way I can get it to go via 'Lanyeard 2' is to set the service class to 'Express Passenger' - for a freight train??

Trav ..... :-)

Could it be that Lanyeard 2 is a passenger only line? Check in the route editor.

OK, but you will have to bear with me here? I have only just scratched the surface with the 'sceanrio editor' so very new ground for me!
When I get to the route editor what should I be looking or - a brief 'walk thru' would be appreciated?

Only just got around to really checking this route out. And what a little beauty it is! Thanks to the author of the Class 25 activity recently uploaded for pushing me to get around to it.

And thank you, Darren, for the route, of course :D

Anyone know of a hidden activity stash for the route? Only a couple listed here for V3 and none for it over at Darren's site.

Hi guys and firstly, thanks for the comments.

For available scenarios, there are at least a further six available over at http://www.rs-trainsim.co.uk, just look in the download section under Cresston Scenarios. I also know there are many, many scenarios in development and I still plan to release a few more yet.

I also have Cresston V4 pre-planned and have several good ideas set aside for it. V4 will be the final version of Cresston and as ever, will not need any additional requirements other than the three fencing assets already known for V2-V3. This means the route can still be essentially used "out of the box" by even the most novice of users.

Further to this, I also plan to release a Cresston V4D which will feature the same layout but will have the requirement of GARL and feature completely new signalling, the use of GARL catenary and other objects from the excellent GARL pack. As no track is being removed, cross scenario compatibility should still be there for both V4 & V4D. This idea is not set in stone yet though, I need to gauge feedback to see whether anyone would actually be interested so if so, let me know!

As for V4, I think most people would be interested in this one including myself!, although i do have one small request if i can please could there be some more electrified sidings or even a depot?

I'm sure lots of us would drool over another version of your classic route, young Darren...... :D

I do have just one question though, why call it version 4D, if it's going to be electrified, then wouldn't 4E be more appropriate ??
