When making some scenarios and let despatcher select my route to destination, the counter stops several times. If i use the "handle off path" option, it tells me, that i have left the path. I checked the path in 2d and i'm following the path.
Sometimes it can be over 10 miles of track, depending on the route.
Why does it do it, and what can i do to prevent it? It also happens in standard routes if you try driving in the other side.
I would believe that the counter should countdown no matter what track is used, as the distance to destination would be the same.

Re: Distance to destination error
could it be that the route has single directional track somewhere that is blocking the route? could be looking for another way around

Could be, but I "Think" all the supplied 'Track Rules' have the direction defaulted to "Both".GavNormandale wrote:could it be that the route has single directional track somewhere that is blocking the route? could be looking for another way around

Re: Distance to destination error
All tracks have "both" way directions.
As an example, coming from a 2 track line to a 4 tracks station with 2 main tracks in the middel and a siding on both side of the maintrack. If i dont use the right side track, the counter stops until the side track meets the main track again.

Re: Distance to destination error
Some concepts do not seem to follow an intuitive naming. Like "handle off path", which does not seem to "handle", but rather to "clamp". IN a route with all manual junctions, the dispatcher cannot verify the train route - in the usual way - hence the train cannot "see" the destination. Kind of having you cake and eat it situation. No real rail roads - with modern signalling allow the driver to select the path - like trams do.
There are places in certain routes where autodispatch will send you by the unsignalled opposit direction track AND where there is no current track route to the destination, the distance can not longer be updated.
Also using the TAB key to request passing a STOP aspect. Approval does not seem to guarantee, that the track ahead is free. I have had some nasty experiences.
