I've been waiting all day for the DT wagon pack to arive on steam, and in my haste i clicked on the wrong button,
"Add all DLC to Cart"
That got me thinking, How much have i already spent,
I've included the price of Rail Simulator and the addons that i brought for that and Railworks,
And some of the Railworks items where on offer when i brought them,
£212.82
Im on a limited budget so i only get what i really want, But with some must haves in the pipeline, ie Sly's 9F & Derick's cl 101, Im going to stay poor

Just think of the enjoyment you will get!
In all seriousness though, it will always work out quite expensive but although I am not going to place comparisons, there are many things which cost as much, if not more in the long run.
While on the DT Wagon Pack subject though, is it possible for someone to provide an overview for the periods of use of each wagon included? I will no doubt buy them but would prefer the information for future scenarios.

Blimey, that was an expensive button to press by mistake......
Anyway, just think, you've now got these FOREVER, it doesn't matter how much they cost, they're yours for life......And just to cheer you up, my mobile phone bill came today for 1 month, and it's over £200, so, at least you've got something for your money.
Cheerz. Transport Steve.

Hi,
I've only spent very little on RW/RS, never been able to justify high prices of things I wouldn't mind but don't love to pieces. The only two things I've really bought are the Voyager and the A4, and thats about 30 quid I think? Oh and the isle of Wight. Cant remember how much that was though. But the things I have bought I enjoy very much

I spent more on bad movies, and even more on terrible dates...And with less to show for it, and I think one night in San Diego my car got towed as they decided to clean the parking lot between 3am and 4am and that was almost as much as RW and add-ons.

I have probably spent quite a lot of money.
However, I have purchased only what I want and not what I should have to work other peoples scenarios.
I've now ended up in a position where I have given the Newc - York route a big facelift with freeware assets, and have great payware stock to run on it, making it one of the most realistic experiences i've had on a simulator.

Hmm... Is this button smart enough to remember what DLC you already have, and eliminate that, or would pressing that button make you pay twice for the stuff you've already got?

I think that this may prevent you from buying stuff over again, but i'm unsure.

I used the 'add all DLC to cart' as a test, and it added absolutely everything, even the stuff I've already got. Don't know if it might register that I already got some stuff if I were to have gone further and made an actual purchase though... Still, it is something that it is worth being aware of, it is easy to click on the wrong line and purchase something you already have by mistake...

I agree with everyone saying its good to know how much you're spending, or likely to spend. A lot of the items I bought for RW I really wanted (and some essential to my enjoyment), such as the A4, A1 Newcastle to Modern etc. I didn't get everything, although that warbonnet looks interesting...lol. Can't imagine what research went into the above from Blizzard, but I know it takes unique things to simulations, that being research for one amongst others, and this is an expense other 'games' simply do not have.

Most of my add ons were the JT RS stuff - IOW/Class 66 pack, Voyager pack and Rascal & Cottonwood. DLC wise the original RS foliage pack, also 3D Trains Rural Landscapes, the DT Mark Ones and the IHH Class 20's. So probably about £100 or so on add-on stuff, maybe I'm getting more discerning in my old age but I really don't see much point in paying £6.99 or £11.99 for something that ends up barely used. The DT Mark Ones are the most essential purchase and of the upcoming stuff I would rate Derek's Class 101 in that bracket particularly if he has captured the AEC sounds accurately.

Hmmm...£167 so far, not including the RS/RW platforms themselves. But thats only on modern image Rolling stock, Ive not purchased any kettles, bar Tornado.
That just adds further fuel to the missus argument of "You get paid to drive trains for a living, but spend that money on trains for you to drive at home?"
Still, that's only a fraction of what she spends on make-up/shoes/handbags etc.
