I had a look at the videos of BigBlueButton here
http://bigbluebutton.org/home.
Would this be the answer to travelling?
I also suspect that some server type resource would be needed. RSC could provide?

The idea of a developer day is a great idea, although I think geography would be a big factor on how well supported it is. The idea of holding a north day and a south day is the right way in thinking just aslong as one isn't deemed to be the main event and the other just an extra day

Living in Cumbria I fully understand the sentiment behind your request but I suspect it may be a bit much to ask the presenters to give up their freetime for two events.
What I would ask is that consideration be given to the convenience of transport facilities to reach the venue. The idea of a cross London transit, after travelling all the way from Cumbria, is not appealing.

As a seperate point How about some tutorial DVDs showing how things are done?
For example on You Tube someone is showing how to place signals, unfortunately he has chosen to have music playing instead of a commentary on what he is actually doing and why?
Now I am not suggesting the tutorial DVDs should be free, I appreciate there are costs involved etc
Kind regards Stephen
This would suit me very well, travelling to a UK venue is out for me, however, there is another good side to a DVD,
it can be watched over and over again so that anyone can study it to get things right.
I'm very interested in this, I will surely pay for it and I can foresee it being very, very usefull.
I have nothing against attending a venu, but you only get to "study" a talk once.
