Seems a long time ago now! Remember reading the info for RS the day it came through the post. Happy times

It's just the nature of the beast now a days with so many "HAVE TO BE ON IT" social networking sites. RS aren't the only offender of this. Infinity Ward has a twitter page, facebook page, fan boards, youtube page, steam forum, official support forum, each contain different things also. A lot of game companies are trending toward this style of community interaction. Not saying it's convenient at all but it is the popular trend.

It really is absolute twaddle. Why, oh why couldn't they have kept all information contained in 1 place - A simple website.

Hiya,
Sorry to say Chris it is not all twaddle, it may not be for everyone but you can not argue with the numbers.
Flickr is a great way to share photos, Youtube for movies. Twitter is a great way to tell you who's making the coffee, blogger for little quick fetaures and face book is just away to share info/comments and link them all together.
All point back to our website (which will evolve very soon) where we live, the other sites all reach out to different people.
Anyway most of you guys here all have the inside track because you have direct access to me.
Hope you all can enjoy the holidays with this wet and cold weather.
regards
Derek

I am with Ice here. Could someone summarize what has been said in Facebook from RS.com?

The Railworks website does actually link to all the other sites and you can choose to visit or not. Although I would agree (from a more conservative point of view) that it would be nice to access all information from one website, the advantages of promoting Railworks as widely as possible through 'free' resources cannot be denied and I am sure that we will all benefit in the long run.

Little more detail about working level crossings and how traffic will slow, stop, and backup down the roads until the train has passed, gates raised and traffic will resume.
Some detail about scenario scripting. ie: Marks for blowing/not blowning horn when you're supposed too, speed restrictions etc. I like this idea. World Of Subways had an excellent little scoring/rating system. This reminds me of it.
New SS of the new driving interface.

It's my own personal opinion. Nowdays, people don't seem to be able to get through life without having all this "garbage" on thier mobile phone and the making of a phone call seems to be superflous to the device. And anyway, and as an out and out Southerner, I can guarrantee that I am far grumpier than you!!

Another Ice supporter here.
I have not the slightest interest in any of these " social networking" monstrosities.
When I saw "Find us on Facebook", I thought "oh here we go" and my heart sank. It's not really necessary is it?
Cant we just have one comprehensive site for RW and RS, and keep it simple?
