Hi Steve

The paths are found under the track laying section of the editor in the roads section. Right at the bottom of the listing are the three paths to select.

In the case of the barge and speedboat you need to ensure that the bottom of your lake/river/canal is absolutely flat. Use the levelling tool to do this.
If you have placed the water tiles, mark the bank at some point where the water meets the bank with a weed or something and lift the water tile directly upwards out of the way.
Then lay the path which is just like laying track or roads. The path will not lay on a water tile so has to be laid on the bottom of the lake/river/canal first following the route that you want it to follow. I think you can also form a loop if you want something to go round and round.
It is very difficult to see the path but it is selectable so multi select all of the path sections and raise them up above water level.
Now bring the water tile back down into position.
Multi-Select all sections of the path again (in the air) and then gently bring the path down so that it sits just under the water surface.

When you exit editor mode, you should see the speedboats or barges appearing and following your path. Note that you do not place any models on the paths yourself to make this work.
You can have several paths in the same area if you wish, even crossing each other.

The plane paths are placed in a similar way but it is much more difficult to manage the invisible track.
