Yes it does make a new freeroam ,but if you can get in edit mode and create new marker that will show its the scenarios not the route.

Getting ratty now!

All suggestions tried now, including the use of Manuels revised 'Trip' scenario file he created and kindly sent to me - stll get the same message box every time, so regretably for me, it is something in the route causing my problem?

Ho hum :-?

I am turning my attention to the RouteScenery.xml file! Is this recreated at any time??

However, inside this, there is a list of Asset providers - but some of them don't have assets in the route? Others refer to file paths that don't exist??
One entry that caught my eye was this one:
<iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID d:id="161124400">
<Provider d:type="cDeltaString">DT</Provider>
<Product d:type="cDeltaString">RailVehicles</Product>
</iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID>

Although there is a 'blueprint.pak' in there no assets are as they are in the DT/Addon folder? When I have removed all the scenarios except the 'Trip' and changed the paths of the DT Vans, this does not seem to chnge the file creation hence my question above.

Also the error box refers to 'Line 113'. Nobody seems to be able to tell me where RW is getting this from? If it is the RouteScenery file then Line 113 seems to be:
<cUTMMapProjection d:id="159341320">

Really clutching at straws now though :evil:

EUREKA!!!!

Cracked it at last - and all down to a 'zero byte' file hiding in an Audio/Ambient/Area/UK folder!!

Thanks to all for their help and suggestions; particularly to Joe for the route (which I am off to explore in a mo!) and Manuel for his help and guidence. Much appreciated.

All the best,

I am really glad you managed to get it to work, it is exactly for cases like this one that RW Tools comes in very handy!

Well done Trav, you had us all worried for a short time...... :o

I suppose it would be handy to go into RW Tools and delete all zero byte files and empty consists before attempting to go into any new map in future, I'll make a little note of that.......

Now, let's see some of your screenshots young man....... :D

Yes, and on a similar note I have made a suggestion in the 'Steam Help' forum to enable RW to ignore 'zero byte' files on load-up seeing as they just included in the last update to stop RWPs with thes files in from installing?

Hey, your my friend now as I quite like the 'young' reference :oops: :D :D :D :angel:

Now, how long do you have to sit at the red-semi in the 'Trip' after collecting your empty wagons?? Been there five minutes and begining to drop off!

I you choose the path to your left (far left), when manually selecting your way out of the yard, you won't find such difficulty, no perpetual red signal:

I too am having problems getting this route to work. How do I check for 0 byte files with RW_Tools? Do I need to have the latest version to do it?

Well, I didn't use RW_Tools for this (in fact I am not sure if you can?) but in Windows 7 the search facility allows you to search for 0 (zero) files very easily. Once found just delete them! I ran the search on the whole of the assets folder.

btw, the latest version of RW_Tools is v2.0.57 - I think to get all the features you have to 'donate' (an amount of your choice but a tenner seems fair?).
