Hi Ken,

Thanks for the welcome!! I fired up RW2 and IOW Network, and seems fine to me. At the momment I am busy testing IOW Network V4 which has new track rules, signals and speed signs, aswell as a facelift to Cowes station and various other bits which I will not destory by telling you now!!

Anyway, the scenarios I can do at the momment is from Cowes to Newport and from Smallbrook Junction to Cowes. This is because the rest of the track for the route needs to be upgraded first. So, I will possibly tomorrow start creating a couple of 'test' scenarios to make sure that it will work fine and dandy.

Ian and the rest of the team are whenever possible to finish scenery and trackwork. So please bear with us and we will let people know when we are happy with everything and go from there.

I see some people are having problems with RW2, I know it has been out for nearly 2 days, but I believe it to be some PC systems are different, if that makes sense. So far I haven't come across any problems, well I say that only to do with some payware items, but that is being looked into!!

Till the next time!! :D

Justin :)

Any chance of a new loading screen and route description (IIRC the current ones are just copies of the ones in the RS.com IoW)?

Hi
If you know how to do a different loading screen, please be my guest, iv'e no idea how to do them,
you can use the IOW network map as the picture, I will ask Mark if he can improve & update the description page for the Network.

Hi Ian. I'll have a go at a loading screen if you like? I need to get some practice in ready for doing my GCR one! Looking forward to seeing cowes. That would be my local station if it was still there! :( Thanks for bringing the isle of wight railways back! Regards Matt(92212)

Hi Matt
Good to hear from you, if you can do this big ask, then it will enhance the routes image, mark' has said, that he will redo the description page at the next track upgrade.
Thanks Matt
Best Regards

I was browsing the UKTS library yesterday and found the IoW Network, then this topic which I read from beginning to end. I think I found all the necessary files, but some of the earlier posts here caused a degree of confusion, so I wonder if someone can confirm whether I missed anything.

Version 3 base file and two asset files -

- UKTS_23300_Isle_of_Wight_Network_Route.rar
- UKTS_23295_Assets-No_1.rar
- UKTS_23298_Assets-No_2.rar

An update to version 3 and two fixes for the update -

- UKTS_24472_Isle_of_Wight_Network_Up-Date.rar
- UKTS_24478_Patch.rwp
- UKTS_24510_Isle_of_Wight_Network_Track_repair's.rwp

Of the .RAR files, the only one to contain an .RWP file is the update (24472), while the others contain .RPK files.

As well as those, there are two files with repaints of the Digital Traction Terrier and one which fixes the cab smoke, and, I think, two scenario files. The other problem at the moment is the Digital Traction Terrier, which isn't currently available due to the recent demise of the original Digital Traction website. I'm assuming that it will be available again when they finish rebuilding the new website.

Please can someone confirm whether I need anything else for a complete set for installation in RW2, other than the original IoW pack from Steam or Just Trains of course,
thanks in advance,
moi

Thanks for the quick reply.

Your statement may well be true, but all the documentation (here and in the base files) points you to the DT website, and the two Terrier repaint packs both say that the base model needs to be installed before the repaints. I've also browsed through the .RPK file contents in the files I listed above, but couldn't see any references to DT,

Hi, I wrote the patch for the terriers. :)
If you have a look in the assets folder after you have installed the asset packs ( I think the terriers are in no1 ) You should find a DT folder with the terriers in. My patch needs to be added after these files as it overwrites the bin files in the terrier folders.
Hope this makes things a bit clearer.

Mark,
yes, I realise that you wrote the Terrier patch, but I'm afraid you're wrong about the Terrier being in any of those v3 files, either the two asset files or the base v3 file itself. I just extracted all the files but could not find any names like DT, Digital, Traction or Terrier ...

Hi, this is because you are looking at the asset packs for the original version - you need
Invalid File ID [24468]
Invalid File ID [24469]
and
Invalid File ID [24470]
for the correct assets - this should give you all the files including the DT terriers in asset pack 1!

No, the files I was looking at are the three I listed above, and they are specifically (according to the UKTS library database) all v3 files. The three files for which you just posted links may well be the files users should have, but there is virtually no information in the database to link them to the IoW Network route (and none of them even contain a readme file), so how is anyone supposed to find them ...

Thanks for finally answering my original question,
