Derby - Reading class 45 scenario

Hi guys,

I have already reported to RS that I cannot save this scenario as it crashes when I press F2. However I notice now that the distance to next loction does not count down or function right. Is anyone else getting this, is it another bug for me to report ?

Its strange as all is OK with the York - Newcastle run.

All the best

Doug

I had the same problem, tried to save it and the game crashed. If I try to reload the scenario then "something bad happens" crash!!

Not too big an issue as it's not the longest scenario in the world so could probably easily be completed in one sitting. Having said that I still haven't had the time to complete it!!

The only problem I've had with this scenario is the bit with the next place not counting down.

However I have found that if you jump to another loco and then back again the milage reduces but freezes again.
Also when I completed the run I found that I had failed to stop at "Didcot Up Avoiding".
So I went into the scenario editor and replaced the 0 mph with 1 but this then failed to find the destination of Reading platform 9.
I then added a "go via" instruction instead of the "stop at", moved this up above the "stop at" then deleted that and all was well.

I ran the scenario all the way through without saving but I'll try it again when I have completed all the current scenario instructions SWMBO has given me this morning.

Hi Doug

It is recommended that you do not save the scenarios...
This is the downside to making the scenarios's open with no defined player service..

I believe that it is more than offset by the advantages...
Being able to set a scene
The abilty to drive any service within the scenario
and taking advantage of the often much misaligned dispatcher to continually adjust services on the fly to accomodate any deviations from the originally computed timings... The dispatcher is not the chimp so often portrayed.. I think the monkey working the keyboard is much more the problem :D

As a suggestion if you find that the longer scenarios are too much for one sitting.
on your second period use A sync keys to fast forward to a similar position letting the AI drive the train up to that point then jump onto the service..
NOTE>
If the service has a consist instruction you will have to carry that out manually.

Would be nice to be able to save even if a player service is not defined and have asked the guys to look into it :D

Yes, I have been having a try with this type of scenario - it is fantastic to be able to jump from service to service, same as the Class 45 scenarios it does seem to throw up a few anomalies such as countdown to destinations not working, horn sound not working and others. Seems as though RW isnt really designed to do this and it causes a few conflicts within the scenario so cant say its really a bug.

Thanks Sly,

I just played right through but got a habit of F2 just incase

I love the thrash up the east coast last night, really did take me back, hearing the peak working away .

All the best
