Altenburg-Wildau missing assets

Post by jevon »

I thought it best to post this here rather than in the A-W thread in Screenshots.

RW_Tools 2.0.0.36 reports the following assets missing from the route:

Code: Select all

C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\railx\Addon\verkehrszeichen\achtung fu￟g¦nger.bin,(Scenery Item) on tile -000008-000006.bin,
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\railx\Addon\verkehrszeichen\bahnbergang sschranke.bin,(Scenery Item) on tile -000006-000007.bin,
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\railx\Addon\verkehrszeichen\fu￟ und rad.bin,(Scenery Item) on tile -000017-000005.bin,
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\railx\Addon\verkehrszeichen\fu￟g¦nger.bin,(Scenery Item) on tile -000024-000008.bin,
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\railx\Addon\verkehrszeichen\gef¦lle.bin,(Scenery Item) on tile -000010-000005.bin,
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\railx\Addon\verkehrszeichen\verbotfralle.bin,(Scenery Item) on tile -000010-000005.bin,
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\SAD\GermanLocal\scenery\trackinfra\sign_b2.bin,(Scenery Item) on tile -000001-000002.bin,
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\SAD\GermanLocal\scenery\vehicles\verhicle12.bin,(Scenery Item) on tile -000014-000006.bin,
Could some of these be due to a language issue? Note the weird characters in some of the file names.

Also, I get the "Something bad has happened" error when trying to open the FreeRoam Altenburg scenario in the editor.

Any suggestions?

Thanks much.

As far as I can work out from various sources all assets should be with the package (apart from one zug carriage , see the blog)... Just run the first scenario only (not the free roams) the rest may require german payware.. or freeware stock assets that have not been included yet in the asset pack...

Runs like a dream here..

Hi, the last two are known and will be fixed in the first update, the rest are due to the foreign characters in the name and is a false report.

The free roam you mention requires some extra rolling stock. that I think was included in the RS germanpack01. You could swap them out with RWtools though.

I found the same errors reported by RW Tools. I've checked my installation, and it looks like all the asset files are there with German characters in the file names instead of those curious sequences in the error report - I suspect RW Tools isn't parsing those characters correctly.

The two texture files do appear to be missing.

OK, guys, thanks a lot. I did manage to swap out the missing rolling stock and got the FreeRoam scenarios working.

Stunning route. A major contribution to the RW community. Thank you, SAD.

RWTools dont recognize other letters than english. We have the same problem with DK2000, where some danish letters is used in filenames. But the assets is in the route, and they are shown, when driving the route.

I have responded to Bab's posting in the DK2000 thread.

The problem is that RailWorks stores non-ASCII characters in the .bin files as a 3 character group, e.g. the Danish 'ae' dipthong appears in the .bin file as '₩'

As I do not have a table of character translations used by RailWorks, I am trying to add them to RW_Tools as I go along, however as more and more foreign content is appearing, these types of errors may occur from time to time.

A new patch for RW_Tools v2.0.48 is on my site now which correctly checks Denmark 2000 and Altenburg-Wildeau.

What a superb route! Thank you SAD.

Thank you Mike Simpson for the update, which clears up the route in RW_tools.

Thank you SAD for an amazing route with great atmosphere.

In due course would you intend extending this?

Not necessarily missing assets but when playing the Altenburg morning service every time I get to Marienbaum I get a crash to desktop as soon as the waiting service in Marienbaum moves off.

Has anyone else tried the scenario.

Wonderful and jaw dropping route.

Drove past this point from the other direction on a freeroam so it must me scenario related.

Have amended the other service to terminate at Marienbaum rather than moving off so will try scenario again later this week to see if that cures it.

As said by others, at least one scenario requires the payware Cl143 from "german-railroads.eu" also some require the German Wagons pack1 .. I have had no problems with installing or running this route apart from the two items I mentioned - perhaps my PC was in a German mood on Sunday !!!!
