Hi, I was turning on assets to use in a route and I saw RSC - TornadoPack01 and I ticked it and I have Tornado but I didn't buy it and it is not shown in the Steam DLC for my account.... I am well confused and will I get charged for it?

Yes I saw that and I was going to post but it has been locked, but there is a link in there to a forum page and when I click on it it says in not authorised to view it

Yes - it seems to be a taboo subject on here and other forums. I've sent an email to RailWorks support to ask them what's happening. I wouldn't have minded waiting to be told what's going to happen about it, but my young son would be thrilled to find it had been installed on our game. I've avoided drawing his attention to it so far as if they find some way to uninstall or disable it he would be disappointed (we can't afford to buy it at the moment). If they are going to disable it or whatever I'd rather they got on and did it quicly before he notices it's there.

I can't believe it's some sort of generous bonus as there'd have been some mention of it for sure.

You wont get charged for it, although I was under the impression it had been reverted.

Take it as a lottery won.
Locky ones that connected to steam at the rigth time got the prize.
I think that is quite embarassing for RS but, even I'm not a one of the luky guys and I don need this loco, I'm curious about the evolving of this story

I don't see any reason to lock the thread. RS.Com were made aware of the issue and it has apparently been fixed. I certainly didn't get any unexpected downloads. What they decide to do next is up to them. I guess they could identify those who got it in error and send a delete program down sometime but I suspect that would not be very good PR.

Rock and a hardplace really.. anger those who were given it for free by taking it away again, anger those who paid for it and have now seen it given away within 2 months for nothing (even if by accident)
They're going to lose somewhere along the way.
I think the only way to keep both groups happy is give those who already owned it another piece of DLC for free, but that's probably not a sound financial decision for them. I hope it's Valve's mistake to be honest and that they have to make up for it, I'd hate anyone working for RSC to have to face the repercussions of this mistake.

It must have been for some and not for others. Mine has certainly been revoked.

Hi,

It was a mistake by Valve, someone ticking the wrong box (the Tornado is linked to core RailWorks because of certain promotions.)
I can only apologise for the confusion caused, but I guess we have a lot of tick boxes.

If you still have the Tornado and have not paid for it then I am guessing you have not signed into steam.
As soon as you do sign in it will be removed.

Mine was revoked last night but I cant help noticing its left a lot of files about in the package manager, can these be safely deleted..

The Tornado pack is stand alone, so you should be fine to remove them (any left over files) using the PM.

Ummm I just logged into Steam on both my computers and the one which didn't have Tornado still hasn't got it, but the one that did have it, has still got it in the Assets folder.

Delete the .ncf file ("Steam/SteamApps") for the addon that you wish to delete / redownload, then "Verify Cache". You'll probably need to manually delete the Tornado Asset folder as it won't be automatically removed if you do it that way.
