Hi All
What about some proper engines, not the modern stuff ie A2, B1, WD, 9F. All that run on LNER lines in my youth.

Hi,
I'm currently building a good chunk of the Great Eastern so would put the following into the mixer if I may
Class 321
Class 90 (is the oovee one still being made, its been 12months+ since it was announced)
and Class 315.
All the best with whatever you decide to make. I will look forward to seeing it
Kind regards
Jamie

Hiya Mike,
My personal wish list 3 would be:
1) Class 117 DMU -- they got everywhere and have massive scope for use in a great many liveries -- as there's a total lack of early DMUs. *

2) Class 31 -- they also got pretty much everywhere and their ubiquity means that they were largely ignored by many
Great scope for modelling as there's the early 31/0 ("Skinheads" or "Toffee-Apples" for those that remember)

and the first dozen or so 31/1s which used the same body shape (headcode discs rather than a headcode box...Nicely scabby example here:):

...and then the remainder of the 31/1s with headcode boxes...
Typical example in blue...

...really unusual later-life example (with an auxiliary headlight) -- beautifully turned out in Construction Sector triple grey, here:

and, of course, the 31/4 ETH conversions...
(White-striped livery variant in this case...)

So, you've got 3 basic body variations and then there's headcode versions, domino versions, plated domino, etc. before you even consider the many varied livery and reskinning options; Green, Green with half-yellow ends, Rail Blue, Railfreight grey/red stripe, Intercity, "Dutch" Departmental, etc.
3) Class 24 (and another 25 as a spin-off
) -- a much loved class and one probably the first of the truly modern diesel loco types to be introduced. Again, lots of variation possible:
Original with the gangway doors intact

...plated front end...

...headcode-box variant...

...even the modification for working the North of Scotland lines with twin headlights, miniature snowploughs and tablet-catching equipment...

And there are a bunch of livery options here, too; plain green, green with half yellow ends, Rail Blue, Derby RTC's 97 201 "Experiment"...
...and finally, the "transition" Class 25, i.e. those that retained the gangway doors, e.g.

Rgds, Rik.
* I like the 115, too, however, they were pretty much on the Marylebone line for all their lives so wouldn't be that versatile

And to the rest of you! Thanks as well! I have, well I think I have a good to do list, I'm sure other creators can get some ideas from this thread. I was looking around my hard drive to see if I could find something I hadn't finished or something I gave up. And I found the class 24 I made for Tc3. It's in a very good state though I'm having to re-map the whole thing, as back then I thought auto unwrap was the best thing ever! Haha! It should be a quick job to do. I already have a cab for it so it seems to be a good addition, I'm not sure about a 25 though! :p please feel free to keep suggesting!
Those DMUs sound good however!
Cheers,
Mike

Being a throughly modern chap, how about that hideous new Class 70? Not to everyones taste but as more arrive they might grow on people.

Re: I've had a few requests and...What next?
It was designed by a star wars fan. Its based on the design of Darth vaders Mask. Either that or the guy who was designing it someone bumped into his arm over and over again to make its shape.

True and I just re-read Mike's post and he's stated that he doesn't want suggestions of stuff that's already in the works, so my bad on that onemsey0002 wrote:RSC are doing a Class 31, though
{sigh}
Is it too late to change #2 to a {thinks} Class 33, also?
Rik.

If you can track down Nikos (think it was him...), he might let you use the sounds he put together for DT's 25...
Heh, was just a thought -- it'd just be a 24 (with gangway doors), a headcode box and roof mounted horns (and a couple of panel details...).I'm not sure about a 25 though!
I guess beggars can't be choosers, though
Rik.
