Engine: 3,100 bhp (2,300 kW)
at rail: 2,415 bhp (1,801 kW)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_Class_60

However, in overall horsepower terms, this is less than a Class 66 but I believe the overall continuous tractive effort counts more. I am sure pacerpilot will verify this for me. :D

Indeed, its the low down grunt of the 60 that does it. Thats said, I think a 66/6 may get away with it as these are re-geared.
6B13/33 was always booked for a Class 60 until recently. There have been occasions where the 60 has failed, and 66 has had to step in but the rake has always been chopped down to 20/22 wagons. Lately double headed 66s have been employed as more and more 60s are removed from traffic.
There were trials last year, which saw a Class 59 working these trains, but they weren't a great success. The 59 failed before it even got to Robeston to collect the tanks.

In game, true to life, the 66 fails miserably with a rake of 26. Its struggles to get to 25mph, whereas the 60, even though it takes its time, plods along building its speed gradually. The double headed 66s can pull the train quite happily. I have a scenario which utilises 2x66s ready and I will uploaded once the tanks have been released

Same here mate, testing pending, there is a nice little scenario awaiting on Newc York Modern using the 60, coupled with yours and what comes with the pack, should be a nice start for people to get to know the TEA's.

AFAIK DB have plans in place for 36 tank arrangements, I'm guessing either new stock is coming over or it will be a double headed 66?

I'd be surprised to see DB buying 70's tbh, they don't seem to like spending money at all

Still using the 60's on the heavier workings i see and D43 is still dropping them every couple of days.
