I don't have the 220. Using RW_Tools I've tried replacing the head and tail ends with Class 43 locos, and the 3 middle cars with MK3s. But I get a "Something bad has happened" error when starting the scenarios. The only way I've found to be able to play scenarios with 220s is to delete these consists altogether.
Is there any way to swap another asset for the 220?
Thanks
- Jev

Re: Scenarios: substitute for the 220
Without knowing everything about your setup it is difficult to give a definitive answer. I don't know what route you were running or if you had been able to run the route before this "failed" scenario.
First up, though;
1. Use RW to check route is ok (all shapes, textures etc.) then, if you can, check the route is running ok with another scenario
2. Using RW make sure that you have all the assets for the scenario apart from the 220
3. If it is only the 220 missing, using RW just replace the engine.
4. Reboot your computer just to make sure it isn't a memory problem.
5. Try the scenario
6. If it works ok, go into edit mode and add the extra stock to the engine.
I have found that trying to change too much at a time with RW can lead to failures. Best to take it slow and steady, that way you can determine what is working and what isn't.
Just noticed you are from across the Pond! - Spent just about all my long MSTS time in the US - missing it a lot as I seem to spend just about all my RS/RW time in the UK!
Good luck

Re: Scenarios: substitute for the 220
Is it possible that the change in length that results from the swap causes some error with the dispatcher? If the 'Voyager' is in a Bay platform it may trip the starter signal at its new length, causing a fault in the dispatcher. Or it may be forced to derail depending on the position it is loaded in. Have you tried only 2 coaches and the power cars?

Rod and Martin:
Routes and scenarios check out fine with RW_Tools --- only problem is the missing 220.
I'll try replacing only the lead engine with RW_Tools, then go into the Editor and see if I can replace the other 220 stock with CL43/MK3s. Will let you know how this goes.
Thanks a lot.

Re: Scenarios: substitute for the 220
OK, figured it out.
With RW_Tools, I substituted a CL43 for the lead 220 loco and deleted the rest of the consist. Then went into the editor and added the rest of the HST consist. Worked great.
Thanks again, guys.
