Also i just noticed that Derek also talked about that he was getting the 02 added to the core which mean thats either going to be free and in the update or will pop up somwhere down the line.

hi
i would like to see a better filter system for the assets in railworks. actually it takes too long to find a special content in the asset library.
it would be also good to have a feature like a "city map" in railworks. then you could give places/streets different names, and see them
in the city map. like a real citymap.
more cameras for different assets, not only trains.

I agree with Rail-X that an improvement in the filter system would help as I find this to be a bit of a bind. Perhaps we could have the ability create our own categories or have a favourites folder.

yes some sort filter or sorting system for assets is long over due, those lists get longer each day. Maybe if the list was split into the same sections as the assets folders. I am sure it could be done, even if each user had sort manually

At the least there should be some means of hiding the very route specific items (all those default station name boards) so they don't clog up the rest of the list. A comprehendable means of clicking an object and identifying by a user friendly name rather than an obscure file reference would also help.

seems that this thread is growing up to a wishlist

Hi all and Happy New Year, rs.com, Adam, Derek!
I would like to know whether you plan to switch to DirectX 10/11?
Thank you in advance,
Anton

Re: Any word on upcoming patches?
I think unlikely, as the "engine" would need a rewrite to include DX10 / 11 libraries. It's not as simple as bolting on new DX features to an existing engine. Besides, for the moment DX9 is fine, there is only one DX11 card manufacturer at the moment (ATi) and they are in very limited supply.AntonRail wrote:Hi all and Happy New Year, rs.com, Adam, Derek!

I'd rather see the promised fixes happen first and then perhaps in the future sort out an "engine" rewrite if needed..

Is there going to be a manual update fix for people who don't have steam with online??
Because I download stuff @ a friend, and take it home with me and install it, but sometimes I get errors. And I saw those errors were fixed with patches. But I can't find the patches anywhere!

Re: Any word on upcoming patches?
DirectX 10 may be a possibility. I believe before RS was released there was discussion of a DirectX 10 version in the pipeline and Derek has previously mentioned that DirectX 10 features have been tested (lighting and shadows from recollection). Given the modular nature of DirectX, adding DirectX 10 (or 11) shaders would probably actually be pretty straightforward and wouldn't require the engine to be updated as a whole.
DirectX 10 may not add a great deal (although can indeed deliver some nice shadow effects with a relaitively small overhead) but some features of DirectX 11 could be quite valuable for 3D sims, but as yet, as has been said, DirectX 11 hardware is still rare and expensive, but that will probably change over the coming months...

I think old fashioned manual patches are extremely unlikely for RW I'm afraid.Uloga wrote:Is there going to be a manual update fix for people who don't have steam with online??

Re: Any word on upcoming patches?
hi, ...
Just now Clock 19:20 am Wednesday 6 January, after I started Railworks installed an update from Steam.
The screen was as always in an update "Start when ready to play."
But I'm still I had previously 98.2b or 98.2c?
I have received in any case an update for Railworks via Steam.
Have already seen it myself.
Only I can read nowhere of an official update.
greets ice
