Can anyone solve this, please ?

Post by ka959 »

Hi there...

I have a small problem, which I'd like some input from others if possible, thanks. Look at it this way: You have three long, straight sections of track in a station vicinity, and they're named Track A), B) & )C. There's a connection between the three tracks, going first, from A) to B) then a little further along, from B) to C). I have one of those LED-type signals just before either end of the connection, by A) & C). This signal is the one that has a feather at the normal angle for a diversion, and also another feather at 45 degrees, which I presume means first a right diversion, then another right diversion a little way ahead.

If this is understood, and I'm using the correct signals, then where would an experienced route builder place the track links in order to get these signals to function correctly, and show the indications properly ? Can anyone use my description of the track (A, B & C) and possibly describe exactly where the tracklinks 1, 2 & 3 go ? I'd be very grateful for some "British" advice here, thanks, if anyone feels qualified to answer this, and guarantee it will work as needed, for a train travelling from A) to C) on these tracks. Cheers.

Regards...

0 always at the side 0f your signal (NUMBER 1) pass the points on your (A ) line NUMBER( 2) pass both of you points on (B ) line AND NUMBER 3 pass the points on (C ) line IF YOU HAVE MORE THEN ONE SET OF POINTS ON A LINE YOU NEED TO PASS ALL POINTS WITH THE NUMBER YOU PLACE ON THAT LINE unleas you place another signal at another set of points on the same line hope this helps. you will need a marker of some sort for your train to cross over from one line to another in your case on c line to let yore train now wear it is going and to set the signals for that line
ged

foot note make sure all arrows are facing in the wright direction on your signals in direction you want your train to go click on the box with arrows on it to point it in the wright direction if not. To test any singnals that it is working reload your senario beast not to start it from your editer then it will set all the signal wright as it may not show the signal you want it too it will still off set the road you want your train to go if you start it from the editer

G'day there, mate...

Sorry for the slight delay here, even though I did get the reply from you last night, but I was just a wee bit tired, and needed to get to bed soon-ish ! I've just opened my route, and went to the station locality where that three tracks are, and shifted the track links for those two signals. Saved and re-loaded the route and the scenario save. Ran the steamer and hoppers through the area with the points & signals, and went to the back of the train, and looked at the junction signal I just passed, out of the crossovers, and sure enough, the signal feather was now showing the row of lights that were horizontal, rather than the angled row, which was all I could muster previously. For that, many thanks, indeed !!
