Procerror on 2d map

Post by chrisc37 »

Having recently downloaded the excellent South Devon Banks route I find when I press the #9 key for the 2d map I get a crash to desktop and a procerror message. Having not had a procerror message for a while I was wondering if this had anything to do with the South Devon Banks route its self and if so is there a fix for it as it is extremely frustrating. After all the game has been out for a while and you would think these little niggles would have been sorted out by now.

If it is just that route, then some track or signal piece is corrupted. It would need to be found and deleted so it will run again without crashing in the map view.

I don't know whether this will help, its from a Post I made in another Thread: :-?
I had similar problem with the Wales & Borders Route for some time before I worked out a way to prevent it crashing when pressing key F3 or Key 9.

What I suggest that you do is load the Scenario you want to run, when it has loaded before you do anything else, remove the Briefing screen, then click on the 'Globe' (at the bottom of screen) which takes you into Scenario 'Edit' mode. Open the Top left 'Fly out' and click on the 'Monitor screen' symbol, this will open the right hand 'Fly out' which has the Screen options. Click on the right hand cube at the top and All the ticks will disappear from the Icons, now 'Tick' the minimum number of Icons you can run the Scenario with. Finally click on the orange arrow at the bottom of the screen which will return you to the Scenario and away you go. I have shown you a screenshot of the ones I have selected to enable me to run 'Steams dying days Pt1' Scenario that I could not run before using this method.

Points, Siding and Platform markers & names, Player Route & Signals selected)

If too many Icons are ticked the Sim will still crash, I'm afraid it's trial and error to suit your P/C .

I believe it might be that the Graphics card or Processor that's installed, although capable of running the Sim for some Routes is struggling to handle more densely populated Routes like Wales and Borders and it falls over (I also have to use this method to enable me to run the Llangollen route), perhaps someone more knowledgeable will comment.

Anyway give it try, it works for me.
