Hi,
Try TrDiff or TexDiff, either of these will give you a result to start with.
For rendering to texture you had best look at the Tutorials, videos on You Tube, that are available on the net for 3Dsmax.

TrDiff is blender shorthand, the real name is TrainBasicObjectDiffuse. You will want TrainSpecEnvMask or TrainBumpSpecEnvMask for rail vehicles, probably.
