AI trains in Railworks 3

I've been making a scenario on the Portsmouth Direct Line with a Class 03 moving some stock into Portsmouth & Southsea bay platform 4. For those of you who know the line, the scenario starts off at Fratton Depot, the 03 runs light to the carriage sidings by Portsmouth & Southsea station, picks up the rake of carriages, takes them back to the depot through the carriage washer before heading back down Fratton back road (all movements so far not interfering with the main lines) over the main and into Portsmouth & Southsea bay platform 4. I wanted some 4CIGs & 4EPB EMUs passing whilst I was collecting the carriages. The scenario ran fine before I started adding AI traffic, but now, none of the AI trains seem to want to cross my future path. I changed them from Stopping Passenger to Special (The 03 is Empty Stock) thinking they would get priority and would pass me at the desired points of the scenario. They still just sit at the signals before the block I will eventually cross, even if that might be a good 7 or 8 minutes (plenty of time to pass!). I haven't overdone the AI trains either, There's only six trains including the player driven one in the scenario. I don't know what to try... surely the scenario editor is capable of more than just point A to point B with things passing in the other direction??

The priority levels are not particularly intuitive. Try setting your shunter to Standard Freight, which should give passenger trains priority over you.
