Hi Guys,

Cannot for the life of me get any of the "Class 166 Destination boards" working or to display, I take it its the format of DVVVVVUUUUUU and can see the textures in the..
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulator\RailVehicles\Diesel\Class166\Default\Destinations
folder.

Any ideas? or another RW3 fault?

I'm glad somebody else has noticed this, especially someone with Mully's credentials. I have tried every combination that I can think of, and yet the 166 destination board remains blank.

Thanks m8, seems its another RW3 fault yet to be corrected, I also noticed a another fault I have reported to RSC also, when in TSX mode all seems okay, but when TSX mode is off viewing the consist externally there are no destination boards, plus no wall behind driver.

I've just update the Scotrail 166. A beautiful job, as always, even for a fictional livery. And hopefully you will hear how to repair the destination boards.

Please keep those Scottish reskins coming. Those of us on the other side of the Atlantic with Scottish blood in our veins appreciate it. I was just in Scotland a few weeks ago and spent some time at Waverley and Glasgow Central just train-watching.

Speaking of which, is there any news on the Edinburgh to Dundee route? I haven't heard anything about it recently. As a former Dundonian (actually Broughty Ferry), I'm very much looking forward to it.

Yes, The SECML is still in development and will be available asap, some new problems have come to light regarding RW3 so I am busy tweaking away, cannot say much more at this stage. Nice to hear from a Dundonian even if you live across the pond, I live in Dundee Menzieshill, Mum and the rest of the family live in Broughty Ferry.

Has the 166 ever had changeable destination boards. It hasn't in my experience.

I think that was Mully's point, and it certainly was mine. The documentation is there, in the location that Mully specified. But I don't recall ever seeing it working correctly. The simple fact that there is a "Destinations" folders that contains 40 files totalling 2.50 MB seems to indicate the plan was to have working destination boards. Otherwise, why include the folder at all?

6 digits of set number and 5 of vehicle number don't leave any room for destinations, and there doesn't seem to be an autonumber material for the destinations. There is a transform for it, so it was obviously thought about...

When you look at the .TgPcDx files as images (I used the RW_Tools program to do this), you can see that all 26 letters have been assigned a display in a .TgPcDx file. Here are a couple of examples.

Some of the files include two different items, in which the first is shown in larger letters than the second. An example of this is the destination_a.TgPcDx file produces this image ...



Other files contain a single item, which is shown in the larger letters. An example of this is the destination_g.TgPcDx file, which produces this image ...




Here are all the assignments. When there are two things listed, the items shown inside the parentheses are displayed in smaller type on the second line, as the "All Stations" is shown in the first example above). When there is a single item, it is shown in larger letters, as shown in the second example above.

As I mentioned before, it seems as if somebody went to a lot of trouble to do all this. And yet I can't find any documentation, from either before or after upgrade, to describe the Class 166 at all!

Yes mate, That is why I started this thread, the 166 has had a total re-vamp and new Head/Destination boards where mentioned in the advert by RSC for RW3, you may also notice, when in full TSX mode everything is okay, but when TSX mode is off you cannot see the destination boards or the wall behind the driver when viewed externally.

You say everything is OK with TSX turned on? I don't see anything on the destination boards, even with TSX active and every option on its highest setting (not great for the FPS, but I shouldn't be missing anything). What's the secret to your success?

No you miss my point, I am talking an "additional fault" with the TSX off you do not see the Destination boards assembly full stop. plus the back wall and door behind the the driver was not there, however they must have fixed this in the last update as I just tested it and both now appears. (The destinations still do not work however)

Sorry I misunderstood your statement. I've been trying to work exclusively in TSX, so I wasn't aware of the additional problems in "legacy mode".
