Glasgow - Carlisle early 90s timetables

Post by USRailFan »

Does anyone have any timetables for the Glasgow - Carlisle area from the early 90s (more specifically late 1991 until privatisation) that they'd be willing to share for scenario creation purposes?

I have personally found that Scottish Region WTT are a bit hard to come by or are out of my price range. I have one for the WCML route, but it's for 81/82 & it came from a specialist book seller. You never know, you might get lucky.

Having a bit of a tidy-up of the loft tomorrow - have made a note to see what I can discover. For sure I've got copies of the national passenger timetables from the 80s and early 90s, so good representation of Table 65 over several years. Scanning in the pages could take quite a bit of time, however.

I currently work in a timetable planning office and there are copies of almost every Winter / Summer GBTT from about 1980 onwards (and selected older ones.)

Unfortunately they are available as reference only and I can't really justify spending ages at the scanner / photocopier, but if anyone has any specific questions I can do my best to look up the answers.

Got the Summer 1992 edition in my desk drawer as we speak!

Thanks, Seb - that's a very useful resource indeed. Hope you can bring it to the attention of more scenario builders (RW)/activity creators (MSTS).

Malky-Loads available in the Bo'ness second hand book-coach at Bo'ness,I got a few from there :) Although they were a bit more expensive than what I normally get and although I had gone particularly for WTT's it wouldv'e been daft to leave them lying there after being up there for the weekend from West Yorkshire!

Managed to get a GC Section Scottish WTT for £3 at Nene Valley Rly last weekend tho so cant complain.

Try looking in your local railway's second hand book coach/shop,Didcot has a good one, near the toilets on the left hand side after the coal drop.

Cheers,
Mark

Seriously you are always best off looking at your local railway(s) first, you can find some real gems, normally at low prices. (Generally the older they are the rarer they are and thus more expensive)
