Though I go into the Timetable view in the scenario editor and change the length of the time my player train makes it's passenger stops, the doors still close after only a short time. Now i've noticed in some scenarios the doors will stay open much longer, the slider in the F4 HUD travels slower across the scale and the time to move off is, it seems, pre-set. Now when I go into the editor in a scenario that works like that I notice in the timetable view there is a small clock icon to the right of the departure time, now do you get this?
All I want is the player train to stop for, say 3 minutes, with the doors open and to depart from that stop at a particular time.
Bye the way, this is a standard scenario as was the one that works the way i want mine to.
Hope you can advise.
Michael

Re: Creating longer stops
Yep, the little clock is the important bit
If you go into timetable view mode & open the instruction that you wish to modify, on the left hand side of the little window that opens should be a checkbox next to the clock icon. Select this and you will notice that the departure time is no longer greyed out. You can alter the departure time or the length of the stop duration, they both have the same end effect. Note this only applies for passenger stops. Normal stops only last the default 20 seconds no matter what time you put in the boxes

Re: Creating longer stops
I'm currently trying to create a scenarion where a L/E attaches to a set of empties in a yard, once this is done it should then waits20 mins for its booked departure time, I've tried messing with the waiting time in the editior but to no avail. Can anybody suggest what I should do?
Thanks. LW

Re: Creating longer stops
Currently, only passenger pick-up instructions will run for the full duration of a timetabled stop. All other instructions seem to last 20 seconds regardless. Only suggestion I can offer is to create the instruction with the times you desire, then have a pop-up message to let the player know they are meant to wait until the desired departure time. The dispatcher seems to be able to handle this situation, as I have had to do this for several scenarios I have written.

Re: Creating longer stops
Thanks Malkay, will the dispatcher (horrible American term, prefer Signalman or Controller) not hold off the mainline traffic until my train departs the yard 20 mins later or will he carry on pathing the mainline until I'm booked to depart I wonder??

Re: Creating longer stops
It depends. Playing about with the service class & performance % can make a difference, as can the signalling on the route. Best thing to do is to try it out & see what happens.

Overtaking is much the same as meeting. I've written an FAQ on the latter, I might still get time to extend it.
